Cut back on smoking again
    #14055212 - 03/02/11 03:10 PM (12 years, 10 months ago)

Down to 1 ciggy every 3 hours. It hasn't been too hard, but my lungs are punishing me for ever smoking in the first place. I think I finally went below the threshold where the lungs decide I'm smoking so much that shedding the tar-ridden shit is a waste of time. I say this because my lungs have felt like shit for days and today I'm starting to cough shit up (so far mostly mucous, but I bet the real nasty shit is in the post).

Anyone else have some nasty stuff coming out of them when they quit?

I'm at like half a pack a day, I don't cough up anything solid really... but that tar/cig/mucus taste shows up up when I do cough so I suppose its coming. :/

Good luck on quitting man, I'm gonna have to do it soon...

I quit right after xmas. The best way to quit is to get the worst flu you can imagine and be completely bed ridden for a week, then have the cough for another 3 weeks. Thats how I quit. :awedance:

you guys should put a nicotine patch on, and then get into an activated MRI machine, you will never want to smoke cigs again.

The last time I came close to quitting was when I had mono in 10th grade. Could hardly move, let alone smoke.

i think once i'm done with this carton i'm not buying anymore cigs. my throat is getting raped and my lungs are fucked.

quitting is pretty easy though, usually when i feel like smoking i'll abstain and the urge will go away after like 5-10 minutes, or i'll go do something else like some pushups or something.

or if you really want to smoke inhale less often, and pass the smoke through your nose instead.

i love cigars and pipe though.

also a detoxification process seems like a good idea. go for a day or 2 w/o any food or drugs just water and then for the rest of the week eat just fruits & veggies/nutz etc

exercise & meditate n do lots of stretchin' throughout the process and then continue to do so as u feel fit

u can begin incorporating meat back into ur diet again after a week or so but keep eating healthly & exercising/meditating

light as possible/fresh as possible is best. head lettuce is excellent i just rip it off and eat it right out of the bag every now and then

get creative w/ ur food dishes too spend time preparing meals n thangs w/ ur favorite ingredients

don't be lazy eating pre-prepared food u gotta make ur own stuff if u want to :feelsgoodman:

all that time spent cooking n making delicious meals for yourself should steer ur attention away from dr00gz for a bit..

but seriously meditation is key it can give u the exact same effects as a ciggy just try it!

and remember to do lots of stretchin' too u gotta have good blood flow & circulation it's very important key factor to bein' :feelsgoodman: and @ ur best

Haha I can't tell you how many times I've heard "this is my last pack". My buddy one time said "man fuck smoking, I bet you $50 this is my last pack". I took the bet and the next day he had another pack. Lol I didn't take the $50 bucks but quitting cigarettes is not "pretty easy".
Also, you buy cigs by the carton? This isn't your last carton...but GL anyway

I've been hearing people who are hard up for smokes are having to choose between smokes and food, but they end up choosing smokes.

Sounds ridiculous but an addict is an addict.

nah, definitely my last carton. it seems like if i have cigs, i'll just smoke them out of habit, not because i need to. if i don't buy a pack i can get by bumming or buying one or two cigs a day. definitely more of a psychological addiction rather than a physical one. if i cut out the visual aspect of smoking by closing my eyes when i smoke, it becomes less satisfying.

i'll just have to quit trying to look cool by smoking. :smirk:

the psychological part is the hardest part to break.

I'm also quitting because I derive no pleasure from cigs anymore. Normally, when I reach that point with something, it's time to move on.
