On the 18th of last month me and a friend left the strip club after having too much to drink and got into a crazy wreck. We hit a 18 wheeler gas tanker going 55-60mph, my seatbelt malfunctioned and the air bags didn't deploy causing me to go threw the windshield. Surprisingly it didn't knock me out, but I cut my superorbital artery, nerves causing me to loose feeling and fractured my orbital bone or whatever. Was rushed to the e.r and had a plastic surgeon put about 120+ stitches in my forehead. People in the ambulance and e.r didn't think I was going to make it. My friend just fractured his wrist on the steering wheel.. His seatbelt caught him. Learned my lesson that night.. He told me to sue his insurance since he's already fucked.

This thread is freaking me out. A friend of mine was recently completely fucking drunk from going bar hopping. He called me up at 3:30 AM saying he was driving to my house. He knew where my place was but he was lost because he was so drunk. I was on the phone with him, telling him to pull over and tell me where he was--to just stop driving and let me find out where he is. During this conversation, which was barely coherent on his end, I heard "Oh shit, oh fuck, oh shit, shit shit!!!!" then what sounded like an awful wreck. The phone went dead. Mind you this guy drives a shitty old '70s car with no seatbelt and bad brakes, and worst of all has a lead foot. He's gotten two tickets in two weeks just prior to this. The last place I knew he was driving while on the phone with me was the highway, and with that lead foot I assumed the worst because I heard several smashes spaced apart--I thought the car had rolled or something. I was high when this happened BTW. Turns out he was fine, just hit his car on the walls along side the exit on the highway, kind of bouncing back and forth if you can imagine that. It scared the shit out of me. He's so lucky.

Now that I am a responsible adult I could NEVER EVER see myself driving intoxicated like that. No matter how fucked up I was, I am still well aware of the consequences.

She's looking at a life of guilt.
I could never drive drunk. I actually avoid going to parties cause I don't want to be in a situation where I'll be drunk and want to go home. In the two years I've had my license, I've never driven drunk. In fact, the closest I've ever been to driving drunk was when I had two beers, waited like four hours, and drove home.
I did get into a car with a drunk driver once though Worst part is is that this friend couldn't drive very well in the first place (she tailgates the shit out of people). This was before I had my license. It wasn't that bad cause we were on slow city roads, but it was still nerve wracking. Same friend ran a red light when she was driving my other friends over when she was only hungover.
Never again.

A real good friend of mine just lost his son in a DUI auto accident, and he wasn't driving, either. His best friend (the driver) is facing felony manslaughter charges. The wake is tomorrow... R . I . , Paul Jr. . . . Parents aren't supposed to out live their children...

damn, sorry Vinsue.
The worst part is this is a major city... they coulda gotten a taxi Even if you live, you run the risk of being pulled over, that would shatter a lot of my dreams right there.
When I drink I run home, my friends think I'm crazy, the furthest drunk run I did was 5 miles but I'd rather do that than sleep on my friends couch sometimes or get into a car with a drunk. Plus, me pay a taxi? I have legs that work. I'm just waiting for the time I black out and wake up in the woods half way home

the noel laws as well as the underage shit applies, under the noel laws they can be sued for allowing the driver to leave in her own vehicle after being intoxicated, that's why bartenders are supposed to cut drunk off

it's actually fun and doesn't take me much longer than my friend who takes the bus to the same area cause she needs to take 2 busses and wait for them and junk. I just walk outside, turn my ipod on and start running.
$2.60 for her to make it home, free run at 3 AM for me.
The only thing that scares me is I cross the second most dangerous intersection in the USA on those runs at 3 AM lol. I take my headphones out for that one cause I see drunk drivers every weekend. Kelly Rippa's sister was actually paralyzed there and all, shit is super sketchy.
yea that's the only time I sprint during that run is across all 16 lanes of traffic on that run, they set up camera's to catch red light runners but they didnt do shit, it is just a flawed intersection.

I used to drive totally fucking schwozzled all the time. I think some people are better at it than others. I never came close to getting into an accident, though I once got pulled over for speeding after a long whisky night. The officer smelled it on my breath and I got in trouble.
I don't drive drunk anymore, not because I think it's particularly dangerous, but because I don't want to get my license revoked or go to jail.

I have NEVER seen a bartender or waiter cut someone off after the estimated amount of drinks it took for that person to be legally too intoxicated to drive.

That's risky man.. risky. especially in the Bay Area.. Bay Area is a fucking nightmare for driving
I'd rate you a 0 if I could
I hate drunk drivers, I wish I could beat the fuck out of every drunk driver fucking shithead. They deserve it. I wish every drunk driver was killed in an accident.. they're asking for it. Drunk driving should = life sentence
Somebody come in here and challenge me about drunking driving.. give me an excuse. That's right, there is no fucking excuse unless you get in your car and all of a sudden a bunch of crazy fucks start shooting your car out of nowhere.. Even then, in that impossible situation, you should pull over at your earliest convenience
Even when Im driving, I don't like drunk idiots in my car. I've physically thrown drunk idiots out before, on the side of the road without the slighest hesitation. I don't need the trouble. In a few states, even if the driver isn't drunk but some passengers are, YOU(the driver) can be charged with a DUI.

source for that? That sounds like baloney that you can get a dui for a passenger.
People who talk about how good they drive drunk just reaffirm the necessity to wear a tight belt at all times

na I don't think so BUT what I thought was ridiculous was some guy on "Alaskan State Troopers"(tv show following troopers) got a dui for sitting on a snow mobile drunk.
He was trying to take it, he was so wasted he thought it was his and was trying to put his key in someone else's snow mobile that was a push start

I can't exactly remember where I read it at but I think this holds some truth. I think if you let someone drive YOUR car drunk and you are also drunk you can get a DUI.
I might just be making shit up though.
