Growing near or on dung?

Looks like Agaricus to me.

Agreed, perhaps they were just pushing up through the dung?

Probably an edible Agaricus.  What does it smell like?

I agree with Agaricus sp.

Does it stain red when you cut it? or no?

I can't/won't advise eating any mushroom as my knowledge is limited.
Though they very well could be edible.

Maybe someone with more knowledge on Agaricus will see this thread and be able to help you out.

Nice finds though!

Does it stain any color? Yellowish? Brownish?
And the earthy smell, is it close to the store bought mushrooms?
Looks and habitat point a bit in the direction of Agaricus bisporus...

try breaking the bottom of a stem and give it a good smell. if it is sweet or almondy it should be edible. if it stains yellow where you break the stem, it is inedible. if it smells like nothing or like bleach or paste, it could be inedible, but it's hard to say.

are they really firm? try rubbing the margin of the cap with your finger until some of the cap starts pulling away. wait to see if there is a color change there. or slice one down the cap and stem and look for a color change there.

I find Agaricus really interesting, but they can be a PITA to ID. if you can get your hands on some KOH, you'd be in much better shape....

hope this helps; I envy your collection if they are edible...

If it stains yellow and smells of phenol/ink/urine/chemical it's inedible. I've eaten some rather nice yellow stainers, but in my experience, inedible ones are more common.
:yummy:
OP, let us know if you find out if they're edible or not, could be an awesome find!!! Chances are that more will spring up.

OP won't find out if they are edible or not, he just wants to get high apparently.
I still believe these might be Agaricus bisporus.
Oh my, what I would do if I found a collection like this! The cloning, the eating, the rolling around them in dung! I'm getting all sticky just thinking about it...

Brown (wild) variant of A. bisporus is what I think they are, too.

I'm with you!!! I got a picture of me hugging a bag full of A. bisporus, I will upload that as my avatar soon. I would put them in a basket and skip around, talk to them, give a few away, cook them up and proceed to enjoy digesting the the soul food...the things I would do...

I just bought what were possibly the most perfect looking, firmest and densest brown A. bisporus fruits yesterday. Needless to say I carried the nicest specimen straight into my lab and cloned it.

Hahaha actually me to!
Never saw buttons that large and healthy! But I decided against cloning, seeing how I already have ~15 species going, A. blazei and A. bitorquis among them. And then I thought how I would give anything if I could find a wild specimen...
OP, you wouldn't by any chance be willing to trade a tissue sample if you find any more, would you?

Champiñon. Yes. Agaricus bisporus.
That is an awesome find man, don't waste it.
Try cooking and eating a small amount. Even if you get poisoned (extremely unlikely), Agaricus poisoning isn't severe and doesn't leave consequences.
But if you don't, you have one of the best edible mushrooms there is! A good meal can sometimes be better than a trip.

Not to mention it's good for you and tasty. I've had Agaricus poisoning , mild stomach cramps and flushing...I'd say hork those puppies down in a wild mushroom sautee or stuff them. WOOT and invite me over for dinner.

Sadly I don't think the OP is even interested in edibles nor does he understand what a culinary treat he is wasting.

I think he wants to eat them if they are edible...  Just like with any novice hunter, its a very daunting task.  :badshroom:

Perhaps we can convince him to try them and he realizes how amazing all mushrooms can be. And good deed done.
I think we can all agree that they are a non-poisonous Agaricus, right?

I would get a shovel and a bag, and take the poo home and mix it with compost like GK has suggested before. Could have a few more flushes of yummables.

I think so... It's as close as we can get without getting our hands on them or some KOH on his side.

I would definitely try a small sample first though, just to be safe.
