Weak genetics?

I recently made an LC by stabbing a small mushroom stem (the only viable remaining living specimen that I had at the time). The culture has grown nicely and is ready to use for grain inoculation, but i'm a little concerned as to the genetics. Should I be worried about producing a strain with weak flushes, since the cake it came from flushed all small mushrooms (roughly 1"), or will I be OK, seeing as the liquid culture colonized quickly and just fine?
I have grains prepared and would hate to start a whole new liquid culture and wait, but of course I will if I must...

When using a sugar based LC (Which I assume you are) you should always shoot a single test jar before moving onto bigger projects. Just because a LC looks like it has grown out fast and is ready to go, you can never know 100% just by looking at it.
Better to have 1 BRF cake or jar of rye/wbs contaminate on you then your entire project.

Youre gonna get a mixed bag of potency with MS inoculation.

I am going to test the LC for contams before moving on...but my question has to deal with whether or not it would be wise to continue through with this considering the issue of cloning from a small mushroom. It was not just a pin, its cap had opened entirely and it was about 1", which probably had to do with environmental factors (FAE). I don't want to have 10 tubs of tiny mushrooms, in other words...

Do a small scale fruiting to see if the culture has the required characteristics that you are looking for. If not start again from MS, or jump into agar and you will be isolating your own strains in no time.

hmm...suppose i'll just give it a go, i have a LC that's all ready from spore solution, should I just use that instead? The myc from this one looks healthier and grew faster though, despite it being from a puny mushroom. Is it still possible that I get healthy plump fruits in theory though, or are they now genetically disposed to being like the lame parent shroom?

The tiny shrooms could have been a product of their environment, or even bacteria. Shoot a test jar of your LC first and see if its clean.
If it is, make a few jars and see what happens
