This is one of my favorites.
"Water Shows the Hidden Heart Water shows the hidden heart From the city of Constellations to the wanderer and a Place of Rains he journeys on... ...The City of hesitation and doubt the Island of the house the colour of the sea the Plain of Mementoes he journeys on to find his love... ...the Valley of lost time the City of End and Endlessness the Isle of Revenents he journeys on... ...the City of Solitudes the City of the distance from you the City of Words of blue and yellow and red and green he journeys on to find his love...
...where the road takes him through the City of Sleep the thinking that does not end is within him Then he dreams the road takes him this man who is searching it brings him in silence through the night
where the Cities that do not Exist, exist It brings him in silence through the night close to the City of Realisations; it is here one finds the way... ...Mount Orison the City of Days the Tree of the lost he journeys on... ...north of his love a road through a valley of darkness the islands that are not of this world he journeys on to find his love...
It is a long way through darkness to the way of the eremite the eremite sings of the world and of the journey of love, which is not lost in eternity ...the Valley where the moon is caught in the trees water shows the hidden heart endlong into midnight he journeys on... ...the parade of day the Room of Books where the winds come to him and say..."

My favorite "spiritual" artists are probably Native American/New Age musicians David & Steve Gordon, and Kirtan artists Jai Uttal and David Newman.
All good music is spiritual to me, though!
-------------------- “Strengthened by contemplation and study, I will not fear my passions like a coward. My body I will give to pleasures, to diversions that I’ve dreamed of, to the most daring erotic desires, to the lustful impulses of my blood, without any fear at all, for whenever I will— and I will have the will, strengthened as I’ll be with contemplation and study— at the crucial moments I’ll recover my spirit as was before: ascetic.”

Someone posted this song in this forum a while back. Turned me on to Goa trance. Listen all the way through with headphones in the dark, just feel the music.

Yes, music is/like art, and open to interpretation.
What are the lyrics to this one?

Nice collection thebizzle.
I think this is the most powerful little track I've heard. Used to be totally absorbed by it and think of being in some overcast ghost town. These days I'm not as imaginative in that way. Got to fix that...

This one gets me every time.
The lyrics may be hard to understand, so I've posted them here. (Also, it's a 20 minute song; the video above is only the first half.) Just those chorus lyrics:
Slide into the Water Become one with the sea Life seems so much smaller Swim to the Moon.
Quote:
It's been a long night...away from it all The grabbing authority of my peers... The rusty cage that never seems to open... When can I escape? When can I swim to the moon? I've heard this expression my entire life...never realized how peaceful a statement really is. All alone on the worlds waters...here I am. The sun's slowly drifting past the edge of the world...(can't blame our ancestors) I'm the loneliest boat on this entire body of water. Rest will give my awakening purpose...this is why I have come here in the first place. A peace I have never felt... a life I did not want to live. I will awake through sleep... The drifting drifter...look into the picture...
(The Foreshadowing) No more panic, no more regret. No more hoping for a new mess.
Slide into the water Become one with the sea. Life seems so much smaller.
Swim to the moon.
I awake with a cool breeze blowing through my dirty hair. Rested, stable... a first. A caffeine junkie's longest wish: peace and quiet... No wake-ups, no expectations... A strange feeling... suddenly drifting... This "as seen on t.v." anchor is just another lie I guess... hoping for something not there. Filling a void that I can't quite put my finger on. This loneliness I always seek. I'm in the middle of black water. No sign of human life in any direction... the most peaceful event of my life seems to have typically turned into a struggle. I'm in the middle of black water... no sign of human life. Panic takes over my body. I have indeed floated due to a non-reversible decision to flee. Just for a day I told myself... my survival skills were lost years ago
Here I am: no food, no clean water, and this extremely embarrassing attempt at a "get away outfit". This is an inevitable death.
Slide into the water Become one with the sea. Life seems so much smaller.
Swim to the moon.
Look into the picture...(worry leaves my body) This is what I lived to be. This very moment is the first time in my life that I've felt pure joy.
Slide into the water Become one with the sea. Life seems so much smaller.
Swim to the moon.

I've been getting into Celtic stuff lately... particularly when sung by Loreena McKennitt.

Far and away the song 'Parabola' by Tool.
(Also, make sure you watch the last minute of it. Hell, if you have to, just skip to the last minute of it while bearing in mind the lyrics below.)
Lyrics: So familiar and overwhelmingly warm This one, this form I hold now. Embracing you, this reality here, This one, this form I hold now, so Wide eyed and hopeful. Wide eyed and hopefully wild.
We barely remember what came before this precious moment, Choosing to be here right now. Hold on, stay inside... This body holding me, reminding me that I am not alone in This body makes me feel eternal. All this pain is an illusion.
We barely remember who or what came before this precious moment, We are choosing to be here right now. Hold on, stay inside This holy reality, this holy experience. Choosing to be here in
This body. This body holding me. Be my reminder here that I am not alone in This body, this body holding me, feeling eternal All this pain is an illusion.
Alive, I
In this holy reality, in this holy experience. Choosing to be here in
This body. This body holding me. Be my reminder here that I am not alone in This body, this body holding me, feeling eternal All this pain is an illusion.
Twirling round with this familiar parable. Spinning, weaving round each new experience. Recognize this as a holy gift and celebrate this chance to be alive and breathing.
This body holding me reminds me of my own mortality. Embrace this moment. Remember. We are eternal. All this pain is an illusion.

Just as appropriate would've been Lateralus. SPIRAL OUT!
Quote:
With my feet upon the ground I lose myself between the sounds and open wide to suck it in, I feel it move across my skin. I'm reaching up and reaching out, I'm reaching for the random or what ever will bewilder me. And following our will and wind we may just go where no one's been. We'll ride the spiral to the end and may just go where no one's been.

Sigur Ros + some Angels
I'd put this in my top handful of songs to listen to while contemplating something deeply beautiful and inherently tragic.
