really there's not much to a still, a condenser made of copper coils inside
something that allows you to cool them, essentially take a 3/8 soft copper
tube and wrap it around a 1" copper pipe, use a piece of 2" copper pipe, 2
caps and a couple of hose barbs that can be soldered on, drill a hole in the
caps large enough for the 3/8 tube to pass through but small enough to be
soldered in place, drill 2 holes for the hose barbs and solder them on

with your coil, slip the cap's hole over the pig tail on the coil, slide it
into the 2" pipe and fit the cap into place, slip the other cap on and solder
all the connections to make it water tight

you've now just made a Graham Condenser and it should look a little like this

(on the left, only with tubes coming out instead of ground glass)

and for heating.... electric hot plate

I have my eye on making a vavled reflux
maybe 3foot column and a smaller keg. For the boiler

I have a couple keg boilers made with water tank heaters. The columns are all triclover clamp fit to the keg fitting so its super easy to change stuff up. I can put a long column on or a short one then the condensers are threaded and everything can get switched around for potstill style or a tall reflux column with a coil that just replaces the plain cap on the top.

Funny thing is I don't drink for shit but just keep alive a family tradition. There is a older still in pieces that I would love to reassemble but I will when I move to MI. I would like to get  fuel license though. I would feel safer.

As for the guy in the video and all his products they seem meh to me. For what that think costs I bet you could have a full keg set up cranking out better shit.

Go with the bokabob still on the homedistillers website. It's extremely easy to build, even if you have no experience. It can be utilized as either a highly efficient reflux (95%)still when using copper scrubbers, or these can be removed and the still can be used as a basic pot still when attempting to distill flavored alcohol.
