in my experience, it seems to me that the differences merely lay in the differences in what signals are interpreted and when and how frequent; to produce ramps of " residual effect" that you can then make crazy claims of timelessness (which is really there) and symbology (again, something that is innately there in our minds) and it merely gets interpreted differently using these drugs in different times and places in our lives.
but mushrooms seems to have a small more gated ramp, then LSD, which has more of an open ended large ramp.

With shrooms, I notice that everything takes on a kind of neon purple glow. The visuals are more wave-like and organic, like everything is breathing. And of course, you get the giggles for the first hour or so. Unfortunately, there's also the body load, and at first I feel kind of woozy once it kicks in. I also notice that sometimes shrooms will highlight bodily issues that I have, and muscles will cramp up, which sometimes makes walking a chore. I can also get forgetful and distracted on shrooms, and simple tasks like trying to go get my shoes will turn into a "mission."
With acid, the visuals are more fractal-like, and I'll even see distinct faces and symbols. There's something almost psychic about it -- like you're plugging into the collective unconscious. I find it enhances creativity a great deal. It's also a very energetic drug. On some good acid, I can get pretty hyperactive, and can sometimes get quite annoying to be around(just ask those who were there with me at the NE '05 gathering). There's also a weird feeling in my head when I first start to feel the acid. It's almost like the sensation of being thirsty, but drinking water doesn't make it go away.

Well i don't think you guys are doing the same acid we did in the 70's. I only did it once. IT was called windowpaine. I was on the ride of my life for 16 hours seeing colors and everything else. I would never do it again. It scared the shit out of me. However today i see guys talking about doing 2 hoffmans. You would never do 2 hits of the acid in the 70's you would flip seriously out. Probably fry yourself for life. LSD25

mushrooms is infinitely better then lsd in my opinion
trip duration is much more convenient, you get much higher with a comparatively lower dose.

LSD is more "electric" feeling to me and i get really jittery and anxious especially during the come up.. it doesnt feel like a natural or organic high at all to me.. shrooms are my trip of choice because its really smooth and organic and can really take you for a ride also.. lsd is definately way more visual and complicated tho..

LOL
dude, people have spent their time as a psychonaut, whilst on the side, have been trying to determine the difference in the experience of Mushrooms and LSD for decades.
LSD is obviously different in it's effects but it's funnily enough, a remotely similar "set-up" in it's mechanism of action. (though, again of course it's not the same)
and yes, things have changed form the seventies but... no, people still trip hard.

Acid makes me feel like a soul rainbow .....
Mushrooms make me feel the depths of what it means to be a true human, and all of the beauty that comes with that.
I'll just say that on acid, while listening to Jimi Hendrix with my eyes closed, I saw and felt volcanoes all over my heart, which were all erupting/EXPLODING with the MUSIC itself, as well as the magma of my actual soul, the source of who I was... instead of normal lava. And on mushrooms, I have been baptized by Jesus in my shower. Both experiences were indescribably beautiful, but I find mushrooms much more calm and spiritual. On acid, I am a fucking madwoman, and on mushrooms I am much more down to earth, articulate, and very social, including with people who aren't tripping. Mushrooms for me are much more spiritual and enlightening than insanity-inducing, and is the only drug out of the two that produce lasting effects in my mental well being and life choices. After an acid trip, whatever enlightenment that may have occurred during the trip passes almost as soon as i'm done tripping, but after mushrooms I am a more spiritual being for months. Anyway, no definitive all-inclusive answer can be given to explain why they're different, all we can give is all of our own personal anecdotes (which I always really love reading btw ) Acid is definitely more "mad" though.

HMMMM I thought I posted in this same thread two days ago
Quote:
To me:
Acid: Cerebral. Controlled. Intellectual. Scientific. complex geometric patterns. Psychic. Colors sharper, things undulate, natural patterns and cycles become more transparent.
Shrooms: Chaotic, Mindfuck, Absolute Hilariousness. Spiritual, Mystic. Wonderment, Humility, Colorful vibrant "glowy" hallucinations, Transcendence, Ego-fuck.
They are totally different substances but I love them both for different reasons. Done each hundreds of separate times. Pretty sure I "prefer" the trip of LSD far more. It's just more 'predictable' and stable. You can trip balls on super high doses of acid and still somewhat function Shrooms will just smack you on your ass. High doses of shrooms definitely have the crazier visuals though. I've had some mind-blowing visuals on good old LSD but nothing like what I saw when I ate 8gs of potent homegrown
tldr: acid takes you wherever you want to go shrooms takes you wherever shrooms wants to go
On acid I'm a trans-dimensional time-traveling, shapeshifting alien ninja scientist On shrooms I'm slithering mound of gelatinous ooze, a refreshing course on the human experience
The combination of the two =

there have been times on mushrooms where I wished i was tripping for the rest of my life.
mushrooms are my soul, my fuego, my motivation, my universal celebrator, my law, dharma and most of all friend.
i dont know where i'd be without her.
and ive learned the best way to tell people to enjoy their bad mushroom trip, is "when you let go, is when you gain control"
fuck i love so much im really happy right now

The differences between the lsd experience and the psilocybin experience have already been discussed in depth so I will comment on the spiritual aspects of each drug.
LSD gets me in touch with what I consider my energy body. I become very aware of intense kundalini energy radiating up through my spine.
I dropped a few hits (6 maybe?) of pretty strong liquid after devoting several weeks of my time working on balancing my chakras and it was one of the most beautiful and cleansing experiences I've ever had. Acid usually makes me very energetic (common, I know) but I was completely content sitting very still and upright, radiating all my energy outward for the duration of the peak.
Most of my mushroom trips have been pretty "standard" and devoid of any deep spiritual meaning except for one extremely difficult solo trip on 4 grams of cyan's. After a very long and painful "ego death" I came in touch with the void (Atman, Tao, the one etc..) Time stopped moving forward in a linear progression and came to a complete stand still. "I" was completely unaware my physical body and energy body, just completely absorbed into the eternal present. By far the most powerful psychedelic experience I've ever had.
Of course I'm just superimposing spiritual terminology on top of my own drug experiences and these are all just delusions of my own drug addled mind.

There are many important differences between mushrooms and acid, and they are actually fairly well agreed-upon.
LSD is an electric, stimulating, introspective, thought-provoking, artistic, intellectual microscopic powder.
Mushrooms are organic, baffling, boundary-ripping, overwhelming, emotional, ego-killing God penises.
Haven't tried CID yet. But I love shrooms. So so much
Very similar in many ways, but totally different animals at the same time.
LSD's always been my favorite because it's much easier to direct my focus on it and I like the energy and duration. It also causes me a lot less anxiety, and I find that it is still possible to enter ego-death on LSD through meditation and effort of the will. It's not a passive experience, like with mushrooms.
But all the same, mushrooms do things LSD can't. They can bring the apocalypse to your doorstep and they can bring you to heaven.
Really couldn't have said it better myself. Except that mushrooms are my favorite. I prefer the harrowing cry of the mushrooms, just because of the sheer power and wonder.
LSD is amazing, it's my second favorite psy for sure. Very very close in quality to mushrooms. Mushrooms have just taught me more I suppose.

I prefer mushrooms. I haven't really had Acid for about 15 years. But, I got 2 sugar cubes a few months ago. They are in my freezer. I have been thinking about taking it and then eating some mushrooms half an hour later.

dude my mind was fucking blown at how you just described mushrooms

Yeah he summed it up flawlessly. Im a mushhead though
Shrooms give me this mindfuck that i cant get with acid. Dont get me wrong. I love both like they are a part of me. But its like. Mushrooms are like my second penis
While acid is like my third testicle
