Hoooboy I hope you won't get what I got. I ate bad shrimp too, leading to 24 hours of round-the-clock vomiting followed by diarroea that made you just clutch your belly and moan with cramps.

The bible clearly warns for this in no uncertain terms:

Quote:

9 These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat.
10 And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you:
11 They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination.
12 Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be an abomination unto you.

Leviticus 11:9-12

tl;dr? You're fucked.

Isn't seafood, particularly shrimp a little iffy right now?? I'm staying away from even properly prepared/stored seasfoods. probablu forever. But then, that's no big sacrifice for me, never particualrly cared for the taste of water dwelling animals.

Except crab. crab is delicious.

But still!  Many bacteria double in quantity every half hour or so. 8 hours = 16 doublings. Go calculate 16 doublings on 1..I'll give you a spoiler: 8 hours later every single bacterium has become 65,536 bacteria

sometimes i let raw meat sit outside in the sun for a day or two before bringing it back and cooking it

its true!  i let it turn like a grayish color..  let it sit for a while and it makes a huge difference..  i like my steak marinaded and i let it sit for like an afternoon and a night on the counter when you cook it up it has better flavor and more tender too!

yeah, when your your talking about things like a steak, that bacteria on the outside will be killed once it's cooked.

but when your talking about cooked, ready to eat things, they should be tossed after a few hours at room temp. your playing with fire.
