This is an age-old question, but I feel compelled to weigh in each and every time.
There are many important differences between mushrooms and acid, and they are actually fairly well agreed-upon.
LSD is an electric, stimulating, introspective, thought-provoking, artistic, intellectual microscopic powder.
Mushrooms are organic, baffling, boundary-ripping, overwhelming, emotional, ego-killing God penises.
Very similar in many ways, but totally different animals at the same time.
LSD's always been my favorite because it's much easier to direct my focus on it and I like the energy and duration. It also causes me a lot less anxiety, and I find that it is still possible to enter ego-death on LSD through meditation and effort of the will. It's not a passive experience, like with mushrooms.
But all the same, mushrooms do things LSD can't. They can bring the apocalypse to your doorstep and they can bring you to heaven.

Mushrooms make time stop.
LSD makes time stop but at least you have a grasp of what just happened.
gotta walk the dog.

My first LSD trip will be tomorrow.
I have tripped on mushrooms and really want this trip to be something extrodinarily beautiful.
I know it will!

Good luck man.
During spring break I'll be taking three hits deep within in a forest with two friends. It's gonna be my first time doing acid (only done weed, shrooms, salvia, alcohol and tobacco.)

I find that statement completely wrong. Just my experience though.
20+ hits of LSD was nothing like 8 grams of mushrooms. I could actually keep connected on LSD if I wanted to. Sure there where moments but even in my endeavors I felt way more in control on LSD than I did on mushrooms. Mushrooms I feel are more likely to make you go elsewhere.
I need to find some L again, it has been to long.

In my experience, the visual/emotional/cognitive/physical aspects are very different but both drug lead me to the same room or plane of existence. The way that I experience this room depends on if I came through the lsd door or the shroom door. But at the peak of the trip I always feel that I am arriving at the same place regardless of what it looks like or feels like.

Understood, that makes sense. I have just not ever been to the same room for both.
I think I get lost in the hallways. Of course back 15-20 years ago I was new and did not have much guidance with LSD and well it has been over a decade sense I have eve seen it it.
I kind of find them polar opposites when it comes to the introspective aspects. LSD lets you float and watch from the out side where shrooms can force your problems right into your mind. That said if you go into a mushroom trip with lots of positive energy you are bound to have a good time... for the most part.
But in any case like how you put it.

Really couldn't have said it better myself. Except that mushrooms are my favorite. I prefer the harrowing cry of the mushrooms, just because of the sheer power and wonder.
LSD is amazing, it's my second favorite psy for sure. Very very close in quality to mushrooms. Mushrooms have just taught me more I suppose.
