Well in Politcal Discussion, or whatever we're calling it this days, we were discussing what is needed for a peaceful world in this thread. In this thread I posted this:
Quote: What is the need to carry on survival? This is something I've never understood. But I do agree with the space program part. I just don't understand the human race's wet dream of surviving forever. It isn't natural. Don't fight extinction.
Just kinda wondering everyone's thoughts I guess.

Of course there is nothing wrong with making conclusions on a scenario by logically acessing the facts. just make sure you have the facts! I see people constantly state things such as " I dont believe because look at the facts. " well what do they mean "the facts" ?
we are born with a brain which grasps logic, and I do say we were "meant" to use it. so indeed if we are just a universal "accident" a mean result from a mean universe, it is fair to logically take the facts and come to the conclusion that it is pointless.
I would rather say - a strange result from a strange universe- you have probally heard the expression " the only thing that is certain is that nothing is certain at all " On a mental level I completely agree with that.
But there is something deeper.. somewhere inside me I am sure about something..what was it..ah yes that I KNOW.
What do I know? that I KNOW.
that is all, no details. everything may come from the source but it is a afterthought.
now obviously belief is not enough for us humans.. as I said above we have a brain for a reason. I think before anyone jumps to a conclusion about hmmm lets see..the greatest question ever asked! they should be able to say they have seen ALL.
This is why I believe in a balance of logic and faith, you may also call it doubt and faith(although it doesnt translate well )
I would like it to be a nice dualistic symetrical balance, but the truth is faith will always have the one-up on doubt for me. Why? As odd as it sounds TRUTH (as some see it) is not that important. I can not give up. whatever is shown to be true it does not effect my will to be. What I am is true. what I know is true, simply by me knowing it I have made it true. As long as one person will not give in to the negative, depressing, seemingly true cold hard truth that the article " SATAN ON WAR " seems to ( although a bit melodramatically ) sum up, then we will go on..
