Wet Spot Bacteria On Mushroom Cap?
    #14042816 - 02/28/11 03:04 PM (12 years, 10 months ago)

I just picked this shroom today when i saw this spot on the cap but i was just wondering what it is really? And if its good to eat and if it fucks up any other mushrooms in the FC?

I thought it was blue bruising but i think it is "wet spot" because you can see the dull color around the blue/black spot and i was wondering if it is eatable? Its now drying under a fan.

Looks like it might be begin to rot, or possibly just bruising from excessive spraying or moisture on the cap. If you've already picked it and it wasn't any worse looking than in that pic, I'd say it's fine to eat.

Take a look at it after it's dried, you'll be able to tell for sure then.

I'd say its good. But what exactly is it? It might be just moisture on the cap because i soaked the shit out of them yesterday...but why did it make it go all dark blue/slightly blackish

The slightly blackish part is what scares me

Over-watering, and standing water especially, will cause the mushrooms to bruise a bunch (blue) and start to rot (black) if the water remains for an extended amount of time without evaporating.
