 Got an internship at a prestigious university thanks to Shroomery!  3

Hey guys, I just want to give y'all a huge thanks for everything you've taught me about mushrooms and their cultivation. I recently applied to a bunch of internships in order to get a good summer job. The one I most wanted is a horticulture internship at a really prestigious university. On the application they asked about my hobbies, and I wrote all about my mushroom hunting and cultivation (edible of course), information I all learned from this site.
Anyway, about a week later I got a call back from them, and they did a phone interview. It went really well, and they asked me about my mushroom hobby, so I went into super depth about growing things from liquid culture and on different media. And they were like "well, we don't know what any of that means, but from the sounds of it you know a lot!"
Anyway, today I got a call saying that I got the job! I accepted on the spot, and will start at the beginning of summer.
Anyway, it means a lot to me because it's a really big university, and I'm from some piss poor public school in the middle of nowhere. I don't think I would've had the qualifications necessary without the mushroom hobby. So thanks a shit ton guys!
And they aren't going to drug test, so I'm about to celebrate with some dank for the first time in 2 weeks! WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Good day!

It's grounds maintenance, landscape installation, and things to that degree. This particular internship has a large educational component to it as well though, which is one of the reasons it was so appealing.
I want to go into Landscape Architecture eventually, and this will look really good on college aps for that.

Sounds really prestigious. All kidding aside, that is awesome that you landed the job. Be sure to add some mycelium to all the landscape mulch.

Yeah, in truth, work-wise I'm doing nothing that they couldn't hire migrant labor to do. But I'm more interested from the standpoint of being around the professors, and really learning a lot from the experience.

You can learn a lot about horticulture by doing exactly what the migrant labor folks do
Knowing how to care for a lot of different plants isn't a bad thing.
