Brf cake to lc results

This is an update on my brf pf cake to lc experiment. This is a picture of how my lc turned out from simply dropping a piece of pf cake into sterilized honey water.
I then drew a syringe worth of lc. To make another lc and more cakes.
Heres how the other lc looked after about a week. This one has not been tested.
Last but not least heres a picture of a pf jar inoculated with the first lc that was made from a piece of another cake. This was taken a week after inoculation from lc.

All of the other 7 jars are coming along great as well. It is possible to make an lc this easy just try to be very clean. No glove box was used either! I am going to say i was probably lucky but non the less it is a possible way to create an lc. P.s. Sorry for big pictures.

Yea i lysold and ousted my whole work area. I also used rubber gloves. No glove boxs just basic sterile procedures. If you have a extra cake jus get a piece of myc n drop it in you may get lucky to. I havent fruited my first cakes even tho they r real close but already have a good amount of lc.

Basic sterile procedure would include a glove box or laminar flow hood.
Open air ANYTHING is hardly sterile procedure.
Go buy a lottery ticket, what you have done rarely works out.

How big was the chunk of cake that you used?

Ok the piece was about an inch long and half inch thick. Not too big. Yea evilmushroom hardly sterile maybe but i dnt have access to a flow hood and didnt use a box as it was just an experiment. Maybe it rarely works im simply letting other noobs know it is possible. Can always Count on someone to say oh i dont do it like that this Is the right way. Maybe you need a flowhood to Do this but if i can do it once i know i can again and im not saying it will Work everytime but it can work if you are clean about it. People always have to criticize some ones technique just because they do it different. We all have different teks and they each work different for others.

No, they are criticizing because it was ill informed, lucky and encourages noobies in improper mycological procedures mmmkay?

Do what you have done 100 times. Give me the results of success to failures. What will happen is a little thing called probability.
Your talking about taking a piece of colonized brf cake in open air and dropping it, again in open air into a nutrient broth to grow out. There are so many vectors for contamination that I would bet money in the long run you will get contaminates more often then not.
You got lucky man, Im not criticizing your luck, im simply stating that building a glovebox at the cost of $10-20 will provide an environment for inoculation that is far superior to open air.
Sorry that you took offense

Np evil sry for bein defensive now that you explained and yes psilo it was maybe a lil ill informed but like i said just an experiment to help noobs have hope for lc n encourage them to make one. Lc seems to complicated for noobs alot im just trying to let people know they should experiment and not listen to what every single person says because again people usually say their way of doing it even though theres many possibilities.

Is the problem with this tek that it wasn't done in a sterile environment, or is the basic technique flawed?

nutrient broths will grow anything that lands on them. Dropping a chuck of myc in open air is your main flaw. Although LC's in general always have a risk of contaminates.
