Dark DMT powder - is this right?

Here's a pic of somebody's third pull. It looks just like sand and the whiteness of the first two pulls is gone. They're sure they didn't pull any of the base liquid. Is this normal?

They're using STB w/ lye and naptha in quart jars. They've pulled three times over three days. The naptha that is in the jars now is getting hard to distinguish from the base layer because it's getting so dark. Is is safe to continue pulling?

I've had DMT that looked like that. It's perfectly fine, lower potency though. Still works like a charm when smoked right.

Same. Had some brownish naptha but I went ahead with it (freeze percip and it came out as such), did no washes too. Actually was experimenting with that stuff, I let the naptha settle and it took 4 days but it eventually did and I got yellow naptha with yellowish white crystals.
Either way the brown was fine and yes seemed like lower potency but it got me to my first full on "breakthrough" type experience.

Ok...Ill take a stab in the dark and guess you were using powdered root bark. The finest of the fine powder tends to get irrevocably suspended in the naphtha to varying degrees. Lots of super-fine dust-like powder = the dreaded "brown naphtha."
If you have only a bit of fine MHRB powder suspended in your naphtha, you'll get brownish crystals instead of white. The crystals precipitate on the particles. Since a few percent (lets assume 15%) of the mass of your product is now MHRB powder, the DMT seems less powerful by 15%, hence the reports of lower activity, above.
If the foregoing is all true, there will be no harm in vaporizing the powder. DMT will vaporize at an extraordinarily low temperature and the MHRB powder will be left behind as an inert contaminant.
In sum...all is well.

freeze percip and then re-xstal. What was your solvent? That almost looks full alkaloid. Which isn't a bad thing.

Sounds like it might have to be washed again then re-crystalised for clarity, although i obtained some rather vibrant orange crystals the other day, i dunno!
