I came across these guys growing on an old oak stump in south florida. fruits 4-6" across, 2-5" thick. Any ideas what it may be before i try to go and clone it?

Ganoderma appalantum? There are three or four of them on that stump if you look in the first pic.

i thought that to be a possibility but every applanatum i have found has been mostly single layered and much wider.

It looked like, at first, there was an organish ring of spore deposit on the brak, but on second glance I'm not so sure.

Hell, there are three or four of them, grab one of the younger ones off the bottom of the trunk if you can. Then leave it in a dry area and you'll have definitive proof one way or another.

Same here about 6:45 AM yesterday, I checked the cow field across from my house. Many turds, but most are fresh and the ones that aren't are bone dry. I've contemplated getting the flat shovel and a 5 gallon bucket and bringing home some substrate.
