Since hallucinogens completely fuck your sensory input, and the more powerful ones (LSD, shrooms, DMT) put both brain and senses in to overdrive, time seems to come to a halt.
I literally spent what seemed like an eternity in a bad trip once. Still have a bit of PTSD (or the hallucinogenic version of PTSD) from it sometimes.
The horrors I went through...
do you mind sharing what you experienced?

My first shroom trip... 1.5gs
I peaked in about 1 hour after dosing, and the nest 2 hours took like 10 hours in my mind.
I was doing tons of stuff (well, staring at colors and shapes and the tv waving around) for what seemd to e 30 mins at a time, turns out it was 2 minutes on a real world clock.
I loved the time dialtion that time.
When you want a trip to finally go away, time dilation sucks!!!

Been there done that, and it was like my third time smoking.
Not fun.

Thanks. I got the most random compliment on my writing this weekend from a cop while I was filling out the second police report of the night.

Very good read. The parts regarding your introversion and alienation from others during your childhood mirror mine to a degree.

Big thanks to the dude who posted the Younger Brother song. Ended my trip on a very positive note.
Finally managed to pass out and woke up feeling refreshed, and noticing that the DXM has had very little impairment on my cognitive skills. Thank you LSA.

Have any of you experienced time compression? It seems like the stories are always time slowing down ... that's all I've experienced too. What about time speeding up? If psychedelics alter our perception of time so much, why is it *always* in one way? seems weird man
Time speeding up wouldn't really make sense, because events can't occur any faster in perception than they actually are in real life. Unless a drug "buffered" your mind, it would seem impossible. I am aware that quantum physics pros say time really can bend, but it was my understanding that's an interstellar scale thing.
In order to buffer like that, you would need the person to be conscious, functional, and you would need them to keep memory of what's goin on with thangs, but then afterwards you'd need to somehow knock them out to where they forget the experiences and then relive them in extreme clarity at a fast-forward speed to catch up.
Actually, "life flashing before your eyes" seems to be what we're trying to describe.

agreed, this is probably a common occurrence with a good portion of shroomerites imo.

People with high IQs supposedly share a common experience of introversion and alienation, and a lot of the more intelligent people become interested in drugs for a number of reasons, the most prominent being to shut up their overactive minds for awhile and have a break.
Something I read about once, anyway.

LSA binge?
Sounds interesting. I'd like to hear moar about this.
I have had some pretty crazy time dilation on LSA at higher doses.
I'd actually say second only to smoked DMT.

Every mushroom trip I have time dilation.
I'll close my eyes and feel like I'm in another dimension for what seems like an hour but I look at the clock and it's 2 minutes from when I closed my eyes.
