last 2 batches of wbs i lost to bacterial contam.

used to be able to get away without a soak but it doesn't seem to be the case anymore (don't know if it's the winter or what)

so i rinsed 10qts worth of WBS
soaked for like ~13hrs
simmered for like 30min
rinsed
drained for like 40
Pc'd for 2hrs
Inoculated each with ~2ccs LC

only 1 came out looking too wet (it was the 1 with like 95% sunflower seeds)

just looking for some good vibes towards my jars. if this works out i'll have enough for summer festivities with friends.

I would suggest you try FooMan's WBS Tek if this batch goes south..but I'm sending you good vibes.  What kind of lids are you using?

i used to do something similar to Foos tek
i normally do a 45 min med-high simmer then pc for 90min but the last 2 batches got contaminated (the culture still appears to be good. have used it successfully before)

i use just polyfil stuffed lids

There is your problem .. Lids not grain prep.  Go to the post office and get a tyvek envelop for free then pick up a tube of silicone for 4 bucks and make some self healing lids.  I made the mistake of using polyfil lids and all my batches contamed.

trust me it works plenty fine...

bacterial contamination is usually caused by grain prep

Polyfills fine for grain jars and works like a champ!

Good vibes to you dude.
