That's because he's basically Bush's 3rd term.  It doesn't feel like anything changed, because nothing has changed.

Here's how it works:

Washington does whatever the fuck it likes, and you pay them.  Doesn't matter if it's the dems or the GOP or the teabaggers, they'll fuck you sideways, and you'll pay for the privilege.

The TSA goons capture pics on their cellphones, and send them to their friends.  If you object to this, they'll molest you in a 10' square room (if you're lucky, publicly if you aren't).  And you pay them to do this.

Thanks to both parties, the banks do whatever they like, and Lord, will you pay THEM.  The teabaggers made some noise about this for a bit, but have predictably joined the bankers.  Nothing has been fixed, they're raping you again, and you pay them.

In fact, the bankers took that TARP money and bought T Bills with it, rather than lend it out...So now they're collecting interest on the loans WE gave THEM.  And still you pay them.

They've successfully deflected the whole issue, of course, by pointing out that some unionized teachers get paid ~ $100,000 per year.  By contrast, while CEO of Goldman Sachs Group in 2007, Blankfein earned a total compensation of $53,965,418 (Which included a base salary of $600,000, a cash bonus of $26,985,474, stocks granted of $15,542,756 and options granted of $10,453,031.).

Funniest part is, Goldman Sachs orchestrated the collapse by systematically plundering AIG via margin calls.

And still you pay them.

You must like this sort of assrape, because no matter what they do, you still pay them.  If you didn't, you'd stop.

And no, "getting the word out" on an internet forum that's already dedicated to "the cause" doesn't fucking count.  Neither does standing around on your day off wearing a misspelled sign and chanting.  We have Hari Krishnas for that.

The GOP and the Tea Party are the most rightous people America ever had.
http://whatdemocratsbelieve.com
The Dims spend too much money and the Republicans are trying to keep the national debt from going too high.

The Democratic Party has opposed ANWR exploration, coal-to-liquids technology, oil shale exploration, outer continental shelf (OCS) exploration and increasing refinery capacity

An Illegal Drilling Ban
Does Ken Salazar think he's above the law? .

Remember the BP oil spill and its aftermath? Folks remember it on the Gulf Coast, where late last week a federal judge ruled that the Obama Administration is imposing a de facto ban on deep water drilling that is "unreasonable, unacceptable, and unjustified."

Federal Judge Martin Feldman ordered the Interior Department's Bureau of Ocean Energy Management to act on five pending deep water permit applications within 30 days. The case was brought by Ensco, an offshore driller whose permits have been under review for as long as nine months.

Since finally lifting its blanket ban in October, the Administration has failed to issue a single permit, blaming strained resources and new regulations. Ensco believes, as Judge Feldman wrote, that the "government's continuous delays are intentional," part of an effort to use last year's BP oil spill as an excuse to limit fossil fuel extraction.

Judge Feldman wrote that permits had been approved within two weeks prior to the spill, and he dismissed the notion that Interior lacks the ability to issue permits expeditiously. The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, he wrote, is up and running, the spill well has been contained, the new regulations "are no longer new," and the threat of rigs leaving Gulf waters becomes "more forceful each day"—all of which means that "nearly a year after the spill occurred, delays, particularly those of the length at issue here, become increasingly unreasonable."

The judge also dismissed the Administration's "cramped statutory reading" that Congress supposedly gave it carte blanche to decide permits on its own "unchecked whim." Such an approach, he wrote, "would produce autocratic discretion at best" and threatened Ensco's operations with "endless disability."

Judge Feldman struck down the Obama Administration's first drilling moratorium and earlier this month ruled Interior Secretary Ken Salazar in contempt for imposing a second moratorium that showed a "flagrant" disregard for the first ruling. The Administration seems to think he's kidding. We recall a famous op-ed in which President Obama promised to do something about needless regulations that hurt the economy. How about starting by following the law?

Obama's green subsidies attract do-gooder bandits

President Obama's green energy push is rapidly proving to be a crooked racket. It works like this: Revolving-door political hires rev up subsidy programs that enrich their former employers. Then they cash out themselves, pocketing taxpayer loot while turning out energy products that range from inefficient technologies to total failures. Faster than the turbine on a subsidized wind mill, the "clean-tech" revolving door spins out green bandits who get rich off the subsidies they helped craft.

Energy costs up because that's Obama's policy
Comments (0) Share Print By: Examiner Editorial 02/27/11 8:05 PM
.It's conventional wisdom in liberal Democratic precincts that gas prices in America are going up because of revolutionary uprisings throughout the Middle East. That's a convenient myth that obscures the truth about why Americans are and will be paying more at the pump and in their utility bills in the months ahead -- energy prices are going up because President Obama thinks that's a good thing. He was absolutely candid on this point during a discussion with the editorial board of the San Francisco Chronicle during the 2008 presidential campaign. Not only would "utility rates necessarily skyrocket," Obama said paying more for energy would be a good thing because "if you can't persuade the American people that yes, there is going to be some increase in electricity rates on the front end, but that over the long term, because of combinations of more efficient energy usage, changing lightbulbs, and more efficient appliance, but also technology improving how we can produce clean energy, the economy would benefit. ... If we can't make that argument persuasively enough, you -- you, uh, can be Lyndon Johnson, you can be the master of Washington. You're not going to get that done."

But not even "Landslide Lyndon" could make economic reality go away. Obama wants Americans to pay more for energy now both to make more expensive alternative energy sources acceptable and to help finance their development. But there are two fatal flaws in Obama's strategy. First, the federal government has spent hundreds of billions of dollars since the Carter administration trying to encourage the development of alternative energy sources. And for just as long, the costs of energy produced from fossil fuels like oil, natural gas and coal, has declined, even as its production has become more efficient and environmentally friendly.

It is no exaggeration to say that a barrel of oil can be produced today in the United States cheaper and with less effect on the environment than even the most optimistic industry experts thought possible just a generation ago. So, it is all but impossible for alternative energy developers to generate sufficient consumer demand to grow the industry. Like Carter and others before him, Obama is trying to force by government fiat what consumers simply aren't willing or economically able to support.

The second fatal flaw is that Obama is simultaneously crippling the U.S. energy industry. In the Gulf of Mexico, for example, which previously produced a third of all U.S. oil and natural gas needs, the president has effectively shut down the industry because of the Deepwater Horizon disaster. That is a key factor in the recent increase in gas prices as well as continuing high levels of regional unemployment. But just yesterday in The Examiner, Institute for Energy Research President Thomas J. Pyle described the success of a joint effort by Exxon Mobil, Chevron, Royal Dutch Shell and Conoco-Phillips in developing a technologically state-of-the-art "oil well containment cap that is capable of operating in water up to 8,000 feet deep and collecting up to 60,000 barrels of liquids per day." There simply is no excuse to bar U.S. companies from resuming drilling in the Gulf of Mexico or for making U.S. consumers pay more for gas or electricity.
