Nice finds! And you probably owe LK. Nice photos, too.
Cream of Morel Soup has to be my favorite version. Just use your favorite Cream of Mushroom Soup recipe and substitute morels. They add a great flavor and the texture is one of the best.
Happy mushrooming (you did)!

Ohhh baby!!! NICE!
They make my mouth water lol.
Looks like Morels like to grow near poison oak, eh?
What was the habitat that you found them in... please list everything you noted mentally. Id really like to try to hunt these in my area.

Oh... so thats what Poison Oak looks like? I just hope I'm immune to it...
From what I noticed the area was near a flood zone, and had sandyish/silty soil (below the layer of humus). There was a fair amount of moss around. The forrest floor where they were found was a mixture of pine needles and hardwood leaves. The area wasn't super-moist like hardwood forests tend to be... it's hard to describe, but if I think of any more distinguishing characteristics of the enviroment, I'll let you know.
Perhaps LK can describe it better than I can.

Beautiful! The box turtle is also a very exciting find, as their species has been declining in the wild as of late. I'd be ecstatic to find one out in the woods myself! Thanks for posting the pics.

Here's a few more random pics I took around my back yard today... it seems like spring is in full bloom now.
Horrah
I think this one is some type of Collybia or Entoloma(the cap was tan/brown):
Some very tiny Mycena:
Two fiddle heads(baby ferns):

You might be able to, but go look soon. The season could be ending soon. I really don't know a whole lot about them, LK needs to show up so he can tell you about them
