Used coir for bulk substrate?

Has anyone tried using coir that they had once used for growing plants as a bulk substrate (pasteurizing it first of course)? It has been fertilized before and I have also used a product called canna-zyme, an enzyme to break down retired root systems. So remaining in there are little pieces of root as well. Just curious, that would save me some money buying fresh coir.

Seems unlikely to be useful, but try a tub and then post back and let us know either way.

I still think you should try one, just to see.

I say it's worth the experiment. I can't think of any adverse effects as long as you pasteurize properly. Recycling rules.

Well that's the question now, innit?
Grains are nutritious. Coir is too, but not as much. Remember that for a long time, nobody thought the myc could use it for anything.

Hey man, I see NO reason as to why it would not work.
If anything, I would think the addition of little bits of cannabis root would benefit the mycelia.
What the people who told you that the nutes would be gone from the coir don't realize is that the cannabis plants don't derive hardly ANY nutes from it at all. Thats why you have to add nute solutions to your hydro resevoirs.
In other words; PLEASE TRY IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For Science's sake.

Do it. Please!

Trade List! Don't use incubators. An incubator is for contamination as brothels are for STDs. Sure you get sex, but is it worth it?

I'm going to do it tomorrow and will let all you guys know. When did I say I was growing cannabis plants?! That was for tomatoes, and this is for button mushrooms.

This product is entirely expensive and pretty much designed for cannabis. You hipster you...
