Cactus Open Garden & ID

Today I managed to find my way in to what was nothing short of an incredible cactus garden.
Some people may already know of this cacti oasis, discreetly hidden in the northern suburbs of West AU, open for trade & friendly conversation every sunday.
The very few photos I took were around the back of the garden & don't really do it justice, there was soooo much more to see. Nearly all of the potted cacti were available for sale as well as cuttings from some of the old mother plants. The owner continues donates what he makes from the garden to cancer research after his late wife (& partner in growing), unfortunately passed away. It was nice to meet someone with such a wealth of knowlege & passion for growing exotic cacti.
Eventually after exploring the garden & having a good chat with the owner I left with the cacti & succulents in the photos below. (The pots & soil were from bunnings)

I recognised some & managed to id a few more when I got home, If you recognises any of the others let me know Myrtillocactus geometrizans (red pot) Trichocerius bridgesii (blue pot & 2 cuttings) Echinopsis oxygona (I think...?) (cream & light brown pots)
Succulent bowl, going clockwise. Kalanchoe Tomentosa (light blue/white on right) maybe a type of Kalanchoe.....? Unsure...? Unsure...? Echeveria of some sort...? Crassula CV. Gollum Unsure...? Notocactus Magnificus (middle)

Hey NGX good to see you found time to visit this amazing garden and talk to Mike about his love for his cacti. It must have been fucking hot in his back yard yesterday I have to visit him again soon. It must be two years since I walked around this great garden.
You can tag the bridgesii as Mike and most of the trich collectors in AU will know of the clone. Nice big cuts of Mike are you going to plant as they are or chop them up and propagate them? I got a two nice cuts a couple of years ago and planted one and cut one up to propagate as a mother plant for trading cuts. I always keep one big cut to grow out as a specimen plant but every one has there own way of doing things.
Cheers Got

haha yes it was incredibly hot in mikes garden, I regretted not wearing board shorts, the pool he has looked very enticing. I plan to plant both of the cuttings whole, creating a few tradeable clones does seem like a good idea, but I really like these ones for their ornamental value, their freeking huge hahaha
Cheers again for telling me about the garden GoOnThen, Its a real gem, I'll definitely be going back for some other cacti I missed out on, once I have cash to burn again

What a cool post and awesome garden!
Looks like a great place to explore and shoot the shit with like minded people. I find it's nice to discover people who are equally addicted, even some that have lived with this addiction for years and still able to maintain a healthy, functional, long life.
I'm pretty sure your id's are good. I think the mixed succulent bowl is just kalanchoe's and Crassula's.
"Mike" is a handsome bugger. I'm sure he'd enjoy the weather over here in Victoria if he ever feels adventurous.

Cheers K I think "Mike" prefers the warmer weather over here, but I know there would be good company for him in Vic, so I'll have to ask him if he likes flying express next time I visit the garden

I managed to get down to Mike's garden again last weekend & bought a few things I'd missed out on before; Heres a couple of better photos of the collection.
& these are what I brought home
Again I had a good yarn with Mike & was flattered when asked for my contact details so I could be notified of the time when he intends to sell off a large portion of his collection at a discounted rate; Wishing to pass on as much as possible to others who share the passion for collecting & further help to fund cancer research.

Who woulda thought heaven was a backyard filed with cactus. I think Mike's going to be disappointed when he arrives in heaven.
Nice Aloe plicatilis. They're handsome structural succulents that look great once they start to fan out.
I'm going to need a larger mail box too.

Thanks for posting more pics NGX His bridgesii are looking a bit chopped he must have sold a few pieces this year. They where up at fence height. His collection looks like it is getting bigger not smaller. I think he said that most of his plants started from seed and then he propagated from there.
Is that you on the mountain bike

It is defiantly a great area to ride. I used to ride heaps BC (before children). Nothing better than going out on a sunday morning with a group of like minded riders or riding the single tracks on a summer night. Great times.
Khat will be ready for a new home soon
