Full flush of aborts?

I'm so curious, i think I'll just lick my eyeball Here's a hypothetical scenario: One could imagine some incredibly slow or stunted growth on standard PF tek cakes. Would there be any rule of thumb as to when one should declare them aborts? Just for the sake of argument, let's say these are EQs that have not shown visible change in, say, a week, their caps look dark brown (some darker than others) and are kinda pointy. Furthermore, some would just be little pins (looking somewhat similar to these but some would have grown to, say about an inch, with a thick-ish stalk. Also, is it possible that almost an entire first flush could abort? Or, alternately, that whatever change is happening is for some reason veeeeeery slow (for instance, well over 2 weeks, maybe 3 after the appearance of actual pins) and one should just shut up and wait? Tried to look for possible answers around the site, but could not come up with anything even half-conclusive. Thank you for indulging my idle curiosity!

I'd say a good way to tell is the cap color... whenever the caps are almost black, and you notice that the mushrooms haven't grown for the last few days, you can pretty much declare them aborts. Pick them before they rot.

I know the same hypothetical situation and the RH is pretty darn high > 95%, I'd say. Temp has consistently been ~72 deg F. Fanning 2-4 times a day.

Stupid cheapass hydrometer says 90%, but the walls are covered in condensation; Perlite on the bottom w/ water/h202 and a aquarium heater in an open jar.
