Where will our world be 100 years from now?

So, what's your rant on our future? Does anybody forecast an apocalypse and why? Does anybody forecast a utopia and why? Where the fuck will we be in 100 years? all i want is a solid explanation of your belief.
heres what i think. whether its in 5 years or 50 years, i think there will be another American revolution. our politics are too slow and too corrupt, and corporations are too influential and too controlling. also, i dont know if it will be in my lifetime, but there is going to be a massive die off of the majority of the world population. energy demands will collide with population growth, and things will begin to get chaotic. no idea how shit will go down.
-------------------- I know exactly what you mean. Let me tell you why you're here. You're here because you know something. What you know you can't explain, but you feel it. You've felt it your entire life, that there's something wrong with the world. You don't know what it is, but it's there, like a splinter in your mind, driving you mad. It is this feeling that has brought you to me. Do you know what I'm talking about?

It would be my fondest hope to see the human race extinct. Think of all the suffering that would be relieved.

If robots are created that can do all the work humans do.. I foresee a revolution of the working man.. They will want robots to be made for everyone. Regardless of income. They will want all resources available to be used to create things for everyone, for free since all labor would be done by robots.
If that happens then I could see peace.
Hypothetical scenario though, of course.

Yeah he is right. I may be one of the few that really care enough to want to erase the suffering of the human race.

You may be.. but most likely you're not.
It's an interesting question from the OP.
Generally if you look back through history you can see what will happen in the future.
This idea of robots doing the work for us is very interesting though. Cos you could see that it would remove the need for humans to toil away doing menial tasks for little pay. I don't think that will happen in the next 100 years though.
The Middle East is currently going through a big upheaval but I'm not sure if this can happen in the USA. The institutions of the USA are extremely strong and I believe that the government would use nuclear weapons against its own people if it came to that. It would be very hard for an armed, 'spontaneous' revolution to occur in a Western Democracy. I see change occurring on a much slower scale.
So in the next 100 years I think the Western World will remain fairly stable but I think we will see conflict in the rest of the world as Western Society continues to assert it's dominance on other cultures. If noone (say China or India) makes an aggressive stand against the West then the world will probably not experience conflict on a global scale.
I like the idea of Robots though!

Thanks for the interesting take on western culture. Even though other nations are catching up technilogically, the Western world does still have that established dominance. I do not think our nation would inflict damage on itself though. And by revolution, I mean something more along the lines of a change in ideology, mostly peaceful transition.
I don't know where well be down the line, but the our mindset can give us an idea of where we're headed. I feel like most people in here in the states are narrow minded and put little or no thought into where we are now on a world scale. My generation has been brought up to believe that the world can change in almost any way, almost instantly; its actually a little frightening what people think could and should happen to our world. In the coming years we will begin to see a revolution of thought, where intelligence will have to overcome ignorance if we want to survive. Despite how confusing our world may seem, we are living through a very unique and pivotal point in human history. Our actions now will be remembered far longer down the line than anything we thought was important about our history now. Be patient and make wise decisions; there are consequences for every action. Try to understand the world, but most importantly, try to understand other people.

I don't need their understanding as long as I understand myself.
Plus
I connect with people here all the time.
