RR and Roadkill i had a question you guys basically taught me everthing i know about cultivating i even bought your DVDs......but my question is with how many pictures and videos you guys have all over the internet with your faces included(very brave in my opinion) growing mushrooms and obviously not just psy mushrooms but have you guys ever been hassled by enforcers....Is it legal where your at? Because i get scared cultivating certain things and i don't tell but a few friends.....i'm just curious i hope this makes sense? And i ask with all due respect.

No i mean like Bored cops......DEA....FBI...agents who want to make a name for themselves if they find anything from dust, mycelium, or whole shrooms etc... containing psilocybin and or psilocin it's against the law and a schedule 1 narcotic. In conjuction if you have any mushroom cultivating gear whether or not its for shitakes or anything else they then can legally charge you for Conspiracy, Distribution, and Manufacturing a scheldule 1 narcotic......basically they see it the same as a Meth Lab or crack house(even though shrooms are in no way at all like those controlled substances obviously) but state and federal law sees it that way and it could mean ten's of thousands of dollars in fines and more than likely jail time sorry i don't find much humor in this because i love growing Mushrooms of all kinds it's now my favorite hobby but i have a child and if i got busted for something stupid like shrooms i could have him taken away from either by me going to jail or DYS taking him for child endangerment. I just wanted to know what measures could be taken to nullify the chances of this ever happening.....hope this clears up the confusion.

All teks on my DVD were demonstrated with legal edibles, the only thing I grow. I don't even have an interest in psilocybe mushrooms, and haven't in years. Active mushrooms such as P cubensis serve as an excellent training ground for new growers, most of whom either lose interest in a few months or move on to edibles.
No, the feds or locals have never raided my place and would have no grounds to do so. RR

that's life for you...
If you are paranoid, then don't grow actives
if you are worried about what other people are doing and whether it's illegal, then STOP WORRYING... they are adults and have the right to take risks.
if I had a child, then I would not be considering illegal hobbies...just stick to edibles, but that's just me.

I have only been cultivating for about 4 months with great results I obviously started with cubes I mean didn't everybody i am currently growing shitakes and oysters(pretty good at it and considering making my shed into an edible mushroom lab) because believe it or not there is a pretty decent market for locally grown organic mushrooms) but i also have cube spore prints and lingering cube projects. I was just curious as to the limit the average cultivator thinks the government has. Because Psychedelic spores are illegal if you posses cultivating equipment. I'm in no way paranoid but was curious if this was ever on anyones mind. believe it or not it is someones job to bust people for such petty things and since the government pays good money to people with good investigation skills just through pics posts or whatever they can trace it back to you. I mean the name of this site is "shroom"ery.com....Or am i the only one who thinks about this stuff. I am just getting peoples opinions i'm not acusing by anymeans this is a discussion forum right

Thanks for the reply RR you are like a mushroom god or something lol. I mean i am not just a noob growing shrooms to impress friends or sell I have a horticulture backround and am also a certified arborist i work with nature everyday......but lets just say someone close to me works for an unsaid agency he said with just prints and syringes at a location with mushroom cultivating equipment is against the law. I was like SHIT! when he saw i had PC growing..he's not going to bust my balls though i have known him since i was a kid...........now to get off point .......... Currently I am talking to investors about starting a Black Truffle farm because we have the conditions and if i can get a loan for a few hundred trees with truffle inoculated roots in as little as 6 years i could be making serious money and theres is no maintaining anything once the the ground is tilled and the walnut trees are planted thats it. I just have to do more research to get a business plan going and make it look fool proof to investors. Do you have any experience with cultivating Black Truffles? there should be a truffle section on this site involving root inoculation and such....pretty interesting method the more reading i do!

This thread is very interesting for me.
I also always wondered this.
If RR still is reading this thread, what edibles do you grow? Where do you sell them? How much do you grow.
If you choose to answer the following, How long since you grew active mushrooms?

Check out his website.
He has a massive Shiitake operation.
...and grows whatever else he wants to I am sure.
Do you still fiddle around with stuff for fun RR? (like the glow-in-the-dark grow)

I would say that if your not growing with intent to sell, nor prodding those government agencies, you should have nothing to worry about. Aside that, the only way to get busted is nosy neighbors and telling the wrong people. That's just my opinion anyhow. Of course, for me to get busted, I would need to be able to grow something first lol.

yea dude you are buggin out... the only people i have known to get in trouble for any kind of drugs are people who sell them... I have to assume if im the only one who knows and I dont sell to anyone how the hell would any "agency" find out??? and it sounds like you have only told people that you trust now the only problem could be if you really cant trust them....

I would, however, be interested in reading a book by either two mentioned on their journey through mycology and the adventures along the way. Depending on the level of which they went into the Active mushrooms, this would only bring negative attention, so I doubt we will see any anytime soon. :-)

Hell yea I totally agree! Even if it had nothing to do with actives I would buy it... But if it included them it would be that much better IMO

I would tell no one and not carry them on me, other than that something else besides you growing mushrooms would have to lead the cops to your house or give them a search warrant. They cant see through your walls, they can however tap your phones now so I would keep from speaking about it on the phone. If you wanted to have a friend over for some cubes just ask them to come hang out and speak nothing of it on the phone because of all the new laws on phone tapping because of terrorism. If you don't tell anyone and nobody sees it you have nothing to worry about unless you have a crazy ex that likes to call child protective services or something.
