Pins seemed to stop?
    #1403167 - 03/23/03 01:07 PM (14 years, 3 months ago)

Pins are 3 day,s old and seem to have stopped, they are growing out of fully colonized 1/2 pint jar,s, over a layer of perilite in a rubbermaid cont. fanned 4 times a day,the heads seem small and stem,s huge. The last time this strain was grown it took only 4 to 5 day,s although they were cased instead, does it take longer from cakes ,they almost seem to be to dry .there is a lot of moisture in the fruiting chamber though ,can i inject the cakes with sterile water???

How do you go about fanning??? Long stems and tiny heads sometimes mean c02 buildup.... just curious. ( Do not assume this to be the problem tho )

What's the temperature in your terrarium? Have the pins stopped growing completely, or are they just growing at a slower rate?

I would say 80 degrees is too high for fruiting. This could very well be your problem. Optimal fruiting temperatures are in the 74 - 78 degree range.

Continue to keep an eye on them. Be wary of any odd odors or colors. Also, a lot of light is not needed now since the primordia have already formed.
