The Grapefruit League started today for most teams. Does anyone here like baseball? Who are your picks to have a strong start? I think the Red Sox are going to have the best start

Predictions for 2011:
Red Sox win world series
Tim Lincecum's arm falls off
Phillies are overrated, Braves win division
The Yankees can't pitch

Nova is getting serious consideration. He pitched a few times with the big boys last year and they definitely like him. Gonna be interesting to see who sticks going North, that's for sure.

I think Nova has a solid shot to be better than Burnett this year.

I love the Cactus League. I get to see some of my favorite teams play for free and the players are much more accessible.
Thanks for the reminder. I will have to check out the teams closest to me and their schedules. Pretty sure the Angels, Indians, and Reds are all within 10 minutes of my house

I would love to see Atlanta win the division. I grew up in the 90s where the braves were destroying everyone in their division :P *does the tomahawk chop*

It's not that unlikely. I think that the Phillies offense isn't great, and could be below average.

Do ya now? Perhaps you can direct our attention to the particular 6 National League teams you think have a better offense.

Utley, Howard, Rollins, Polanco, and Ibanez are getting old/are old. They have an old offense.

Old? Yes....Potential to still drive in many runs? Yes...I think both Howard and Utley will have 100+ Rbis (as long as they both stay healthy the majority of the year), along with hitting 30+ HRs...Ibanez will hit this mark as well. Polanco will still hit around .300 and have an OBP of at least .350, and will be getting many runs in from Utley/Howard/Ibanez.
The only player on the Phils I honestly think is too old and not worth it and they should trade is Rollins. It his contract year, so he will most likely play better than last year or two, but he still has SOME worth.
The Phils could get some much needed prospects for him, and have Valdez play short. He played pretty well in the 7 or 8 hole last year, and his defense was spectacular.
