DS Lite worth it?

I havent had a handheld system in a long time and I recently noticed the DS has alot of cool games. I already own a ps3 so I figure I might as well go with nintendo for a handheld to mix it up some.
So at first glance the ds lite seems to best way to go, I don't really care about extra features like cameras or anything, i just want it for the games. So my ultimate question is, is the ds lite screen size tolerable, or should i spend the extra money on a dsi xl? THanks

I have a ds lite and it's fine.
I would stick with the lite or go 3ds for the joystick.

Thanks. I really don't care for 3d and I'm way more of a d-pad guy, so the lite it is!

In that case make sure you buy a newer ds lite. The early ones have d-pad issues. It can be annoying to press them diagonally.

I'm considering a DS Lite also. Any good suggestions for games? I've always liked things like Mario Party, Animal Crossing, and Sims. I was also looking at Pokemon, never had the game as a kid but I was big on the cards and was curious if I could get into that kinda game too.

Dragon Quest 9 is the only game I own and it is pretty damn cool. You create all 4 of your party members and none of them speak, which makes the story slightly weak, but the awesome gameplay makes up for it. Theres potentially 500 hours or more in this game if you really love it, theres alot of post game stuff you can do like finding treasure maps and raiding dungeons.
