first gow quick question about fruiting
    #14029016 - 02/26/11 05:47 AM (12 years, 11 months ago)

First of all Ive been reading like crazy on here trying to prepare for every step of the process.  Thanks to all for all the great info so far.  I am using the pf tek and i inoculated 6 jars of gt and 6 jars of taz.  They both seemed to colonize well and what i would assume to be fairly quick.  Once the jars were fully covered in white, I let them sit in the incubator for another 4 days to make sure they were good to go or so I thought.  I birthed all but 2 of the jars that seemed to be a little slow.  I did a 24hr cool water dunk and rolled them in dry verm.  Im using a sgfc with perlite in the bottom.  Ive been misting and fanning a minimum of 4 times a day and keeping the rh at 90% or better.  They have plenty of natural indirect sunlight as well.  After 8 days in the fc they have done absolutely nothing.  I did alot of searching but didnt really find anytrhing that pertained directly to my problem.  There is no discoloration on the cakes.  they are still nice and white but there is no knotting, pinning or myc growth at all.  I decided to give them a 12hr redunk because they seemed to feel a bit dry.  They are back in the fc now.  My question is did I birth them too soon,  am I just over thinking the whole process or did I do something wrong.  I dont believe there is contam.  They just seemed to stall completely so it seems kind of strange to me that none of the cakes have done anything.  Sorry for the long post, I just wanted to cover all the bases any help will be greatly appreciated.  Thanks

ime "natural indirect sunlight" can really slow things down compared to results you are probably reading about, just give it a while longer and perhaps consider adding a cfl or something?

Or, put the cakes in a very bright window where they get a few minutes of direct sun each day and very bright light for the rest of the 12 hours.

My temps usually fluctuate between 68  and 72 inside the fc.
Sorry no pics of the fc at the moment,  Ill try to get one when I get a chance though.
I have added a cfl in the last few days that im running on a 12/12 schedule.
Im gonna just be patient here I suppose and keep on fanning and misting.  Ive got 2 more suringes ready to go as soon as these start to fruit and I know that ive suceeded with the first batch.

In the mean time Ill keep reading and soak up all the great info everybody posts on here.
