Grow might be making me sick...

I have a mini mono in my room, and I exposed it to fruiting conditions this week. I've noticed that my lungs are starting to feel heavy and I'm starting to wheeze a little.
Can this be caused by my grow?

Maybe because of the raised humidity in your room? If you have a very small room, it is possible that the evaporation from the substrate raised the humidity slightly.

illness goes around and kicks many asses in the winter....and it is warming up a bit in a lot of places, could be an allergy.you smoke?
if worst comes to worst and you still don't know why....check spots in your house for serious mold you havent found. the shit can kill you just as well as it does your bread loaf.
don't ever blame the grow makes me think of when cops bust people and wear the expensive suits to move the materials as if the air is toxic
your grow is safe

I don't smoke, weed or cigs.
I live in a dry climate, and it recently has gotten really dry and cold.
I usually don't feel like this though when the climate changes.

someone else mentioned this and i can confirm it as true by my own experience. When i've had a grow going in my immediate proximity, i would notice that around harvest time when all the spores are being release, my lymph nodes in my neck would stiffen slightly. this also happens in the spring/fall when the pollen count is high. just fyi.

Many people are allergic to certain mushroom spores, but I've not seen cubensis among them. Since the mushrooms weren't even fruiting yet, the OP has a cold or something non-related to growing, unless his substrate is moldy. RR

overlooked this... thanks RR. but as far as my experience, do you think maybe it was some other factor? i noticed it repeatedly during the last year before i quit. it wasn't a huge lump on my throat, but when i would feel deeply i could just notice it.

Cold dry air puts alot of stress on your entire respiratory system, resulting is dehydration and swelling making it ALOT harder to breathe and can cause sinus infections and nose bleeds, etc., if you have asthma then the affects are 10x worse...IMO thats what i think it is...thats my 2cents

take a quick whiff. I've gotten sick from a contaminated grow. don't have to see mold if it has a sour or pungent smell of bacteria. can get bad quick if it doesn't get air exchange.

hypochondriac? maybe your just gettin sick? I know you can become hypoallergenic to certain mushroom spores but you need to be around spores of a certain species for years for that to happen.
If you have any kind of central heating in your home the ambient relative humidity in your house is probably extremely low, a good way to tell is if your constantly getting static electricity shocks, causing your nasal passages to dry out making you more prone to being sick
Runing a cheap humidifier in the area you sleep will almost prevent you from ever getting colds in the winter. make sure you change the water though.

This is true, but most people don't know why.
Virus is preserved in a cold, dry environment much longer than in a warm, moist one. Everyone should run a humidifier in their homes during the cold, dry months, whether they're growing mushrooms or not. RR

Plus a dry and cold environment renders the mucous membranes less effective in preventing pathogens from running wild in the body.

Thanks for bringing up some valid points everyone.
I'm positive the grow isn't infected. Smells like nothing at all. The fruits haven't even started forming, there is an enormous amount of knots, but not primordia or pins at all yet.
I have been a quite dehydrated the last few days, some hot tea is probably in order.
