Ok, so if one were to use the "boil-a-bag" tek, what is the optimal environment conditions to have cubes and pans colonize during that stage?

Haven't heard of the boil-a-bag tek. I doubt I'd choose to use it though. But if you post a link, we might be able to advise you.

Ya, not really sure what you are referring to, are you talking about sterilizing and inoculating spawn bags?

70+ degrees is good for cubes, and pans should do well at the same temperature. Although most posts mention temps in the 80s.

basically, it's were you use boil-a-bag type bags (something that will withstand the heat of the PC) and filters (filters are made from rock wool type insulation and vermiculite inside a can with the top cut off all but 1 inch), and you use straw, yeast extract and brown rice flour for food, mix it, sterilize it in a PC at 15 psi for an hour, let cool, then you inoculate with syringes, and it's supposed to colonize within a couple of days, then you move it to the growing environment. But the video I watched didn't say anything about the environment while the bags were colonizing, so hence the question.

Hey, there are better ways to do this. This tek sounds like trouble.
What part of the world are you in?

Well if you're in the US, I suggest either PF Tek, or grain spawn. There's some excellent videos by Roger Rabbit, one of the mods here. The free clips include the complete PF tek instruction: http://mushroomvideos.com/
