Contamination Question

My platypus has some pf cakes that appear to have some type of bacterial contamination. Mushrooms are forming with black spots on the caps and some of the stems. Most of them are being thrown out. However there have been some which matured and were harvested. Some of them looked fine, except for a couple miniscule, tiny black dots, which were carved out with a pocket knife. There was one big mushroom that matured and the cap was pretty fucked up but the stem was fine, so he cut the cap off and kept the stem. Unfortunately, those mushrooms are now dried and mixed with others, so they would be a pain in the ass to have to try and find.
Are they okay to eat?

I would't eat anything that could have been contaminated by black mold, certain kinds of it will kill you, plus bacteria and all the other types of black mold can make you very sick or kill you. When in doubt toss it out.

I thought as long as no mold was seen on the mushroom that it was fine? I think i remember reading somewhere on shroomery that even if a cake is contaminated...it can still potentially yield some healthy mushrooms?

Thats just my opinion, I am wrong at least 10% of the time. Just telling you that I wouldn't eat them after all the things I have read about botulism and meningitis and the likes. They may be safe I don't know, I never saw the spots, and if I had seen black mold looking spots it would have left my house quickly.
