HOLY SHIT

So I was freaking out for a second because I hadn't pre-ordered my tickets for the Excision and Downlink show tonight (which I had been planning on attending since November when I first heard about it) and the website was saying they were sold out.
Well I called some of my friends and let them know, and one of my friends said he could order them. So he tried ordering four, for me, him, and two other people, but the website told him that only three tickets were left. So he switched the order to three, but then those three tickets were gone. He called me letting me know, and that sent me into an epic thought loop of:

A minute later, one of my other friends (who I had notified) calls me up and is like "Yo dude, only three tickets were available, but I got them for you and your friend and his girl."
And holy shit, the day was saved.

Yeah I know. I feel bad for them.
Honestly though, I was going to be pissed more than anything. I had been telling the friend, who tried to order 4, to pre-order the tickets for the last week because they might sell out. He kept telling me that he was sure they weren't going to sell out, but that he would order them anyways. It sucked for me, because I have no debit/credit card currently so I was helpless.
If I hadn't gone to the show because of him, I was gonna be PISSED.
And I'm not putting all the blame on him, but he shouldn't have told me that he would order my ticket for me if he wasn't going to.

Just because you're aware of internet culture doesn't mean you don't read books.

Haha, I hate that feeling...Especially when it's a party/show you've been looking forward too
A year or so ago my friends and I were going to a "underground" party that Datsik & Mary Anne Hobbs were headlining in SF, long story short they told us tickets were sold out while we were waiting in line (still 100ft or so from getting in). Another friend of mine was way ahead of us in line, when he got in the dude working the ticket desk was someone we knew. And he hooked it up with 4 tickets on the cheap, even after they were sold out...So my buddy came back out, gave us our wrist bands and we finagled our way in (with 75+ people or so still waiting in line ahead of us haha)....
....As soon as we got in we found AFOAF that had some L, we bought 10 hits or so then gobbled them up between 4 heads or so...Little did we know this was the most potent and highest quality acid we've ever had. I ate one, my buddy ate 3, with 20 minutes I was on cloud 9. And I ended up baby sitting my buddy ,that ate 3, for the entire night...haha....Long long crazy night, good times though...
I've seen Excision and Downlink twice now, at two different shows. Gonna be honest, I wasn't all that impressed with their sets ....One of the shows Downlink threw down though
Have a good one though man

Hahaha that's an awesome story. Sounds like a potentially boring night turned amazing.
I've never seen downlink, but I have always been considerably more impressed with all the sets Excision has played compared to what I've seen from Datsik.
I think of Excision as a way better DJ than Datsik. Datsik is just an awesome producer

Yea most definitely a change of course in the night....We were getting hammered on a bottle of Crown Royal in line, and were just about to go back to the car and drink & smoke for the rest of the night while my buddy partied as he had a ticket and we didn't think we were going to get in....But shit always works out in the end for us, always.
And I totally agree with what you said about Datsik. I've seen him a few times now, and his sets just don't seem to flow, really sloppy and no groove to em' IMO. Good producer but mediocre when it comes to DJ...And one of the times I saw em', I'm pretty sure he was smashed off a bottle of Makers Mark haha...

Bought Megadeth tickets
Mom convinces me to give them to her for safe keeping
A week before the concert I ask for them she says she lost them without even looking
She threw them out cause my mentally retarded stepdad convinced her I was going to get all fucked up on drugs there, and then brutally dry smashed by moshers

Just got back. Still rolling. The club was way too packed, but the sets were awesome. I think I actually like Antiserum more than Excision and Downlink.

Hell yea man!...I really like Antiserum, he's out of SF and plays a decent amount of shows in the area (at least he did before he went on tour or what ever) so I've seen em' a couple times. The music he produces and his live sets are legit.
You're the one that sent me the PM in regards to the parties & gatherings around nor-cal right?...You should make it out this way sometime, I hate to use the word "scene", but there's a decent one out here. Lots of good shows all the time, and gatherings during the summer.
And just curious, do you know what sort of sound system, or the basics of what the audio set-up was at the place you went to tonight?...I'm always curious about that shit, I love high quality sound (and lush bass that makes your vision blurry from jiggling your eye balls )

Yeah, that was me. I definitely plan on it. California has a way more developed scene than Texas. Kind of sucks, because all the big shows in Dallas usually happen at clubs; where you get half cool heads, and half douche's who are belligerent drunk.
I'm looking forward to coming out to Cali though for an event. I'm gonna make it to one that has camping for at least a day or two. That's the way to do it
I'm actually not sure on the specifics for the system they were using. They didn't use the club's usual system. Instead, the brought in their own system that people were calling "the wall of bass", which I'm pretty sure is traveling with them on the Subsonic tour. It was a little bit "too loud" if you got into the middle of the dance floor, but luckily I had a pair of these with me to save my ears. It was my frist time using them and they worked great. I could still hear all the high frequencies just as well as the lows. I'm gonna wear them to every "rave" I go to from now on.
P.S. Woke up a few hours ago and still kind of rolling

The show was last night, and I wish I had Ketamine. I had lots of molly though.
I was trading dabs of molly for hits of weed and beer on the dance floor. Great way to meet people

Really? Excision kind of disappointed last night because he messed up quite a few of the mixes while he was beat matching. I felt like Antiserum had the best set out of all of them. Every time I've seen Datsik and Excision together though, Datsik has had more trouble beat matching than Excision.
I think they both have a problem of getting too drunk and making minor mistakes that can throw shit out of wack during their sets. Seems like a lot of big name DJs suffer that problem.
