We are lost...
    #1402660 - 03/23/03 07:37 AM (21 years, 11 days ago)

I like getting fucked up but I don't think other ppl who have yet even think of doing or exposed to an environment should be doing them. We, who've used and abused, are gonna use no matter what. But if those who never experience it don't touch it then they'll go on to bigger, better, and take on the fucking world!

I was pondering this while trippin and yet drugs are enlightening and very fun, what's more important??? The living of reality or a psychidelic adventure of enlightenment and joy?

Idk, call me crazy but I'm jus speakin what's on my mind, what ya'll think?

My experience is that people that have no desire to seek something "outside the box" tend to live lives that mearly unhold the reigning cultural paradigm.....just my .02

Yes, but if someone is on the the road to their destiny and then something alters their course and sends them on another route then what?

Ppl who do drugs should do their drugs and the ones who've never touched should just keep on at their pace. I wouldn't disagree if they wanted to try shrooms. That's the only thing i'd be for. But that's me...

Okay, what if involvement with mind altering substances mellows a potential homocidal mass killer out(preventing him from going on a murderous rampage) and interfere's with his "destiny" How are the drugs preventing him from going on the "bigger, better" etc?

Also, wouldn't his/her involvement with drugs have BEEN that person's destiny?

By your logic no one should ever do drugs cause we're all born sober.

There seems to be a human impulse towards drug use in my opinion. Physicians prescribe drugs, some foods act as drugs on the body, there are drugs everywhere you look and no one escapes this. It is a matter of navigating the drugs that are offered and making reasonable choices concerning their usage. All drugs are potentially destructive. The guy at the bar drinking a beer, the 60 year old housewife taking a Zoloft, the middle manager drinking his coffee, the pretty girl smoking a Newport, the 8 year old eating a chocolate bar, all are drug users. Everyone will use drugs in some form, each individual has to be responsible for their choices.

but when those ppl are around those who're doing drugs the temptation and the opportunity and chance doing them is greater. When leary was a professor at Harvard, he'd pay students to be guinea pigs in trying acid. There were many students who had fried their brain and dropped out.

Yea, I see what you mean, but some are more destructive/harmful than those.

I don't think drug use is a natural impulsive act, more like something society programs us to believe. From a very early age we're taught that drugs are the solutions to all problems. When we're depressed we get dependant on popping zoloft and forgetting why we're depressed. What we need to do is fund why we're depressed and solve it. I'd say 80% of americans are dependant on coffee. We're told it's needed in order to function throughout the day. A drug to keep us going, so we can work late, wake early and have enough energy to do it all again.

Yes, but if someone is on the the road to their destiny and then something alters their course and sends them on another route then what?

Yes, well, what is a destiny worth if something as inevitable as drug use leads you away from it? If destiny is so fragile, then I imagine television already destroyed it fifty years ago.

It seems you don't consider drug use to be natural. To you it is something that comes from outside your life and takes you away from who you really are. Well, that's just one way of looking at it. If a drug is defined as being something that chemically alters your brain, then everything is a drug. There is no such thing as a food that isn't psychoactive, neither is there such an activity. This means that your brain is literally the world you surround yourself with. Well, what do you want to your brain to made of? The drive to work? Television? The narrow existence most brains lead? Come on, mix it up! Throw in some mushrooms, some pot, acid, whatever, just be sure to give your brain that high-performance diet of prolific experience that is rampant drug-use. If there were a fifth food group, it would be hallucinogenic. For now it's included in the "fruits and vegetables" team. I mean, would I be writing this paragraph if I hadn't had a toke on my pipe between sentences? Is this any reason to take drugs? Am I just really stoned? Yes, yes I think I am. What was my point? I can't really tell if I've made it anymore. Well, if my destiny was to know what the fuck was up right now, then pot definetly steered me from it.
