An idea for LED cannabis growing

I hear the main complaint with LED lighting is lack of penetration. What if one were to go from one to two led set ups once the plant started to become big enough? One on each side to keep it from leaning and always be able to penetrate all parts of it from the side instead of from up top?

Can't beat the energy efficiency of LEDs, but they have a pretty narrow spectrum.

To get anything meaning full off a led produced plant to would i bet have to total surround the plant. Then once u do that ur talking the same amount of power useage as a 1000w son-t. which could grow 4-6 plants. People whom sell the led lights are just making a quick buck out of idiots. U dont see commercial growers using LED so why should any one at home use them?

Yeah, but they're working really hard on finding a way to diffuse LED light efficiently because the theoretical limit for LED efficiency (lumens per watt) puts the highest current contender to shame.
260-300 for LED, 100-200 for LPS.

They don't need to be wide spectrum that is part of their efficiency they can be made to produce the red and blue spectrum needed for photosynthesis or for other plant needs. Maybe LED UV lights someday (reptiles). To counter their lack of penetration grow in a sea of green (SOG). Keep a mom and take cutting, root, and flower with minimal veg @ week 10 days. You can do a full change or cycle clones threw and have a perpetual harvest. Less that 18" I would guess I'm a @ 3 years behind on grow light tech. Using 1. Gal pot/bags should be enough. If they get root bound just use bigger bags or take smaller clones. Keeping a mom under a larger CFL/small Metal halide should keep a healthy mom producing clones. Look up bonsai moms. Not here its an article on keeping small mom, trimming them, triming roots and repotting. Basically you want to just grow colas.
