Boiling Jars Help Needed! Specific Detailed Questions

So Swim has done a large amount of research on the subject.
Swim understands he must mix the verm BRF and gypsum with distilled water. Drill 4 1/4 holes in the top of the jars ( tape is optional over the holes, would u reccommend?)
Now the real problem, swim is choosing to use the boiling method and plans on doing it in 2 different pots ( to fit all jars)
First question is swim doesnt have any extra jar lids to place o nthe bottom, what else can be substituted. Could a bunched up hand rag be used on the bottom of the pot. If so how much water should the pot be filled with.
Second question is if swim chooses to stack the jars on top of each other (2 levels of 4 on each level) should the jars be separated from each other in some way, or can i stack them on top of each other touching.
The main concern swim has is if a towel was used on the bottom 1) will it be enough to insulate bottom jars 2) will second row of jars be sterilized after 90 mins of boiling
lastly when the pot comes to a boil and you turn down the gas around what should it be turned down to?
Thanks all, i tried search function for a lot of the questions but none were as specific as what swim needs to know for his particular situation

Towels aren't the best for that. Maybe try some old silverware with layers of aluminum foil, or ball up said foil with a flat layer on top, or maybe clean rocks/river stones.
unsure about the stacking issues You want the jars to be about half an inch or more off the bottom, so you can have room for the water without it touching the jars. (Barely coming up to the bottom of the jars is okay IME) Then when you turn down the heat, turn it down just enough so that you have a low boil/high simmer. You want to keep it steaming as long as possible.
Hope this helps, and good luck!
Also, you don't need to use swim, especially since you didn't mention anything that is illegal wherever you may live. It won't help you even if you are.

-I always put tape over the holes. Dont need to tho (use micropore tape) -Put a dish towel or something like that on the bottom of the pot, just cover the towel and then fill to where you normally would. -You can stack the jars ontop of eachother. Your jars will be fine on the second level. Turn the gas down just so you can make the pot steam the shit outa the jars without boiling water out of the pot. Play around with it till its chillen. Goodluck -

If the 1/4 is in inches, that's an excessively big hole. The holes need only be slightly larger than the needle of your syringe. A dry verm layer should be a sufficient filter. You don't need tape.

I always assumed it stood for 'some woman I met'
to the original poster, you have been doing alot of research and those are your questions?!?!? Geez dude....only input I have is the holes should be 1/8 inch NOT 1/4 inch....Gypsum and BRF?....use aluminum foil balled up on the bottom of the pot and then flat aluminum foil to make a platform for the jars to sit on....They should be at least 1/2 inch out of the water....Bring the water to a full boil before you start a 90 minute timer...The top of the pot has to be on and you can add water if its close to boiling dry...you can leave it at a full boil the entire time

Never use distilled water to make cakes. Why don't you want to simply follow the brf tek videos? RR

I haven't/wouldn't do this, but what difference does this make?

Minerals in water are an important source of calcium, iron, etc., that the mycelium needs. Distilled water will absorb just about any toxin or substance that comes in contact with it. Hard water will not. Do some internet searches to find out why you shouldn't drink distilled water as your source of water. It's the same with mycelium. RR
