Jars inoculated but seem a little dry
    #1402150 - 03/23/03 06:24 AM (13 years, 11 months ago)

SWIM boiled up 20 brf jars last week and left them in a cooler until last night.

He then innoculated using mycelium water.

Today, the jars appear somewhat dry. Might they have lost moisture within this past week? If they are too dry, how could he re-moisten them w/o contaminating? Just raise the ambient humidity and allow diffusion?

Also, he was wondering how long myc water usually takes to get started. He knows there will be a lag phase in growth:

1. Because the agar used to make the syringe is a very different medium than brf.
2. Because the culture had been kept in the fridge for a few days.

More jars are lost by nervous cultivators messing with them too much than any other reason. That being said...

If you are certain your jars are too dry, they can be rehydrated with an injection of a small amount of sterile water.

When my friend inoculated with mycelial solution he usually saw growth in 3 days.
