Best way to use my spore prints???

Hey everyone thanks in advance, i just got some prints from a friend, and i was wondering what everyone would recommend a noob does with prints? Im thinking an LC but im afraid of contams, and agar seems intense. Syringes seem like they are prone to contams as well... ive done some poking around and the teks/options are just overwhelming...
-They are all P. cubes (Cambodian, Brazil, and B+) if that matters.
-Also, the "equipment" im working with are a Glove Box, Pressure cooker, masks gloves, and various disinfectants, the basics.
Any opinions welcome...

Your main options are spores>syringe and spores>agar. If I were you I'd make syringes.

you can make plenty of syringes.glove box.try a lc..then test the lc on one brf jar..if clean use.if not try again.. you will end up on agar, clones etc...good luck

yeah i have two extra syringes i think im going to make two of those, and a couple lc's, test them on some brf's and use accordingly. and i agree, once im more seasoned i plan on getting into cloning especially, and some agar prob.

I'm new, so this might be off the mark... please comment.
boil some water, suck into syringes, shake it like mad, refill, shake, refill with a basic LC solution and then PC with tips up and let cool.
after cooldown, in pre-cleaned GB/working area, scrape prints into a shot glass (or 1/2 pint or whatever you have) then shoot LC into this container. suck it back up and then use on your media of choice after you see the goodness.
anything missing from my noob conceptualization here?

Yeah, you don't use an LC concoction in the syringe, just sterile water. A spore syringe is more versatile than an LC syringe. With a spore syringe you have the choice of shooting jars AND shooting an LC jar, both, or neither.
Come to think of it I've never heard anyone do this before.

From my research, I'm also new, a spore syringe seems like your best and easiest option here.
I will be attempting my own as soon as my prints arrive!
Good luck!

agar is way easier then it sounds...i highly recommend doing it, then transfering to a LC, then you can do your PF tek, or grains either way
do a search for grocery store agar tek, very simple, easy and you have all items needed for preparing it..
you dont know how clean your friend was when prepping the prints, therefor if you make syringes you very well could be easily colonizing trich before you colonize mycelium.. then your wasting even more time then its worth.

I agree agar is way easier than it sounds. If you have the funds you can purchase premade agar that you only have to add water to. If not the MEA DMA as well as the PDA are simple if you have a scale and the ingredients. I used to use whiskey bottle to hold the agar while PCing but I ran into the problem of the box being too small to turn the bottle upside down. I switched to sobe glass bottles with aluminum lids. They work great. The easiest way I have found to make agar is to get the premade that you have to add water too. Mix it up and pour it into quarter and/or half pint jars. The quarter pint I used for slants. The Half pint I used like a petri dish. The cool part about the half pint agar jars was that I put a couple holes in the lids. Once the myc grew out and it looked healthy I pushed a 20ml syringe full of water into it and wall la I had a kick ass lc syringe once I pulled the water back into the syringe.
I have tried making spore syringes in a box and infront of a hood. All failed miserably. The worst part is that I waisted a full ATL print. The most conservative way is to use a loop and pull a few spores off the print and smear on agar. I think mycoelf discussed using a loop to pull a few spores off a print and swirl it in sterilized water pull that water into a syringe and then place a drop or two on agar to isolate. It may sound difficult but the hardest part you already have done, you have a PC. Now all you have to do is get the ingredients. Good luck if you have anymore question that I can help with PM me. myc

This is what I wanted to add.
I skipped prints->syringe because I quickly realized that I needed a flow hood and agar.
I have found so many prints to be less than perfectly clean....really, dirty enough to make using them difficult, even using agar.
(I had a Sierrae prints that neither Stonesun, nor I, could get anything but green from)
If you cannot work with agar, then a spore syringe makes sense.
Good luck!

Agar is where it's at. You only need a tiny little bit of spores, you can make syringes with the rest. But go for agar.
