Drill from the inside with a block of wood behind. Also, new lids drill better than old ones. (Tubs too.)

ehh...make sure you're drilling slowly @ the beginning & not pressing too hard, I've never had that much trouble w/ plastic & normal bits...there's gotta be something you're missing...

Y 4? I'm assuming these jars are for LCs...Also, why aren't you just using the steel lids that come w/ the jars?
Or are this ziplock container lids?...cuz that'd be why you're eating the shit outta them...
for those I get the drill going as fast as it can them slowly press the drill into the plastic.

I can make custom lids to any specifications. $5 per lid, plus shipping. 12 lids minimum, must order multiples of four.

HAHA, I'm literary gauging up now. Working well. I think it might be the torque of my drill. Now, a good glue???
todlow, I've been working with the steel lids for a long time, just wanting to try something different. I've had 3 lids for a while that are plastic and there great to work with. Dishwasher and pc safe, with out getting rusty.

Silicone those beasts. Use RTV or something rated for 400 degrees.
Yea, I tried the plastic ones, said screw them. can't stand them. Besides, mine didn't come w/ gaskets so I made my own outta RTV...I don't like them & went back to metal...IDC about rust...lol. They still last for 2-3 years...depending on how much usage they get

Glue... ? RTV.
Also, I like the plastic lids for g2g and agar dishes, since it's one piece. If I'm using an injection port, no real preference over metal lids.
