I have 5 jars, BRF PFtek for quick and simple, i made my own syringes and everything and knocked em up about a week ago...And theyr already basicaly fully colonized...But they are showing ALOT more stress, and Mycelium waste then all my times before, Could it be different genetics that would cause a cake to basicaly colonize on "Hyperdrive" and thus produce more waste/stress?? All the other times each 1/2pint takes around 2 1/2 to 4 weeks for FULL colonization

Im still new at this, but I heard myc tends to turn yellow sometimes so I think you are good. Maybe wait for a more experienced grower though just to make sure! good luck

Looks like bacteria but I could be mistaken.
Fuckin bacteria gets everywhere...I hate it.

Trade List! Don't use incubators. An incubator is for contamination as brothels are for STDs. Sure you get sex, but is it worth it?

Leaving the foil on after sterilization results in a very high contamination rate. It also results in slower colonization. If you had a jar with foil improperly left on the lid and it colonized in a week, then it's contaminated. RR

Hey RR :P, Leaving The Micro Tape on the Jars after wards is still ok right? To prevent Contams from entering the little holes? Someone the other day told me to Take the Tape and Foil off after Pc'in or boiling.

Micropore tape can be left in place. If you're still using syringes, inoculate right through the tape. Gasses can exchange through the tape and the wound you leave behind by inoculating through it. Always remove foil immediately when jars come out of the sterilizer. RR

Well, i may take this one outside and crack it, its def mycelium that colonized cus i can see rhizomorphic growth, however the bacteria is a very good possibility. You think if it smells like earthy mycelium still, and not bacteria, then im ok?

Nope, you're risking your health by bacterial infection dude. Just toss it and don't put your well being on the line. Even worse, if you try to fruit it that bacteria culture will spread throughout your room/apartment/house.

Jars are f'n expensive! Don't throw them away when they get contaminated. When I get a contaminated jar, I pressure cook it for 90 minutes and then take it outside before opening.

Earthy mycelium smell would be trichoderma, a mold.

This is incorrect. We toss out moldy substrates because the spores will contaminate future grows. Bacteria contamination mostly comes from our own breath and/or fingernails and is in your house all the time. All mushrooms in nature grow on moldy, bacteria infested substrates and they're fine to eat. RR
