multispore->rye->coir/verm/gypsum @ 55quart mono shotgun hybrid

First pins started 2 days ago. ~10.

How many days usually from pins similar in size to mine to full maturity?

Time passes slowly..

Hey guys, take a look at the upper right corner of the first picture. U see that yello-slightly-greenish stuff? Anything to worry about, or just exhausted mycelium? There's also a little bit in the lower left corner of the first picture.

Tub looks fine, brotha...

also, as for the timing :shrug2: I mean, it all depends on conditions. You'll probably have some odd looking fruits do to leaving the tub unattended for 3 days, because you won't be able to fan & mist. But they'll still grow.

That happened to mine & I had some fruits that were skinnny then fat then skinny before the cap...

Yea, I just let my mushies go an extra 24 hours...it was not cool...they puked spores all over my sub, which turned purple due to all the spores...got some huge ass mushies off the second flush though

Yea, I wish I had a pic of those weird growing ones, it was due to me not having my GH dialed in & the tubs pinning before I was ready for them too :wow: to me on that one...

GL buddy, they'll be fine...especially in that container, you'll probably slow growth a bit w/out being able to fan...do you have someone you could trust to fan them twice a day for ya?

Yeah, i do, unfortunately that only person is coming with me . But afterall, i managed to arrange some small delays in my schedule, in the mushies favor. They're gonna be left alone saturday noon->>sunday night.

Hope i get in time to catch the proper stage for some prints. Correct me if i'm wrong, prints r2b taken just after veil brakes and u see first signs of spores dropping on it.

yea, you can do that, but I wouldn't worry about a print off the first flush. Get one off the second flush...I'd make about 10 off the second, wait for the third & hope for a CD sized cap & print that bitch just for fun...

Looking good buddy :awedance:

After the first flush, should water be injected repeatedly with a syringe in the cake or should i dunk the whole tub and drain it?

I heard that thing before, with prints from the second flush, but i forgot why. So , why from the second flush? :P)

Dunk the whole beast & drain it...I'd dunk for 4-12 hours...Injecting water into the substrate will only cause contams to enter

I said second flush, because you may not be around for the first to get a viable print...but, from my experiences, my second flushes have been better than the first.

IDK if there's any science to getting a print of the second, I mean, it's MS so it doesn't matter...genetically speaking.

Here are some updates:

Overall nice cube variety to work with: fast colonizer, both jars and tub, no contams, nice looking fruits, nice pinset for a tub first-timer, 10-12 cm tall fruits, 2-3.5 cm caps, however this data is only for the first flush. Who knows what kind of monstarz next flushes will bring.

Can't wait to see first flush weight tomorrow  :shineon:. How much do you guys estimate from the pics?

Ah, I see some random person made an isolate of "Gulf Coast" cubes, took spores from that (i.e. no more isolate) and put a new name on it.

I hate that shit.  Another bogus "strain".

That's what was written on my spore foil. It's the name of this cube variety. Yes, it is an iso of gulf coast, but i guess in my case it doesn't matter because i did multispore. Or maybe it matters, cuz the person who iso'd gulf coast, did it for ~1 year before naming the variety. I don no! Basically, it's what was written on my print :P

I realise you're just the innocent victim here

Do everyone a favour and re-label your prints back to "Gulf Coast" before you trade them.  Buddy didn't invent a new variety by doing an isolate.  Lots of us isolate cubes.  If we all put new names on them, the whole "strains" thing would be even stupider than it already is.

These were the last pre-harvest pics taken:

Waiting on the next flush now. Dried these by putting them in front of a fan that also has a heater included. So a few hours normal cold air fanning, then a few hours on heat+fan and so on. Measured the temp that the fan-heater puts out and it was ~ 45*C.

They bruised quite hard (i also handled them  a bit), especially the smaller ones, dark-black. Caps are not dark or bruised, just the stems. They're going into a silica gel chamber soon. I read that it is normal for them to bruise, however mine are all heavily bruised, would this be a prob?

So, after first flush was harvested, the tub was dunked and it continued fruiting. There was no actual "second flush" or "third flush" but more like a steady stream of fruits. A few would show up today, then, until those matured a few more appeared. The fruits that came after dunking were significantly bigger than the ones from the first flush.

These are the first fruits harvested after the tub was dunked:

And then some more:

And a monster (60gwet, ~20cm tall):

Prior to dunking, it produced ~450g off first flush, after dunking up to now another 500++.

This cube variety definitely produces big juicy fruits, however not from the first flush, but from the second.
