Dunking Monos

Peeps that do monos, how do you dunk? after the first flush, I mist heavy and stop air movement for 12 or so hours, not picking any aborts, then let the sub flush fully again. I dunk after the second flush, but only pour enough water into the sub that it can hold over time, meaning I pour a bit on the surface and let it sink thru the sub. I let it sit in the water without weighing it down, like a cork in a inch or so of water. After a bit, I drain it well and fruit.
I stopped soaking the sub fully under water thinking it leaches food for myc, hence this method.
Opinions?

Personally i dont dunk my monos. I just lightly scratch the cased layer with a sanitized fork to patch holes with a thin new one. That layer properly humidified should provide some extra water for the next flush.
Some will tell you that they dunk their substrate, some dont. I personally have some troubles with contams when dunking casings. A trusted cultivator will give you better informations than me.

I have forked it before, but just trying to see if even that is un-needed...

i simply pour water over my mono's let soak for 12 hours, then tilt and dump water off... i also keep a hole at the bottom of my tubs that allows excess water to drain out....which of course is plugged when soaking...

then stop using a casing! lol you dont need a casing for cubes and i find it to just be another un-needed step.
i just fill the mono enough to cover my sub and hold it down with a couple plates with a brick on top for 6 hours or so and drain. i definatley see more/larger fruits after a good soak
