Do the available studies only track people who had "good reasons" to quit? Or did they track people who quit for reasons imposed from above, like workplace drug testing or probation?

It gets to the point where you maybe feel "high" for an hour or so. I'm 100% functional on weed to the point that like ~99% of people can't even tell. I'm especially lucky in that my eyes (for whatever reason) don't get bloodshot at all.

DUDE CHILL! No flaming in the pub.
I've been smoking weed regularly for about 18 yrs. I was speaking form my experiences.
I've had no problem quitting cold turkey with 0 side effects when I have a good reason to and want to.

Don't get me wrong, I love bud, but it is amazing to me that someone could operate ripped all the time.
Any thoughts?
a tolerance develops, not to mention we have naturally occurring cannabinoids that are released to cope with stress and anxiety, and when u smoke everyday, when u stop those naturally occurring cannabinoids arnt being released. thats why sum1 who is quitting weed is really cranky and finds it almost unbearable... it really is like nails on a chalk board.
I call BS. you are thinking of Opiate addiction. I have quit pot cold turkey several times with no grumpiness. I'm grumpy if I don't have it and want it, but if I quit for a good reason (like going to Japan to test for my blackbelt in Aikido), I get no adverse effects from not having it. And I smoke a lot every day for many years.
meh, i got cranky when i quit smoking after everyday for a few years...it was rough, but still NOTHING compared to opiate addiction...quitting opiates is absolute hell...quitting weed is just a little aggravating.

I smoke daily, have so for the past couple years, but not all day and not large amounts...
I usually only smoke in the evening, the times I do smoke during the day it's maybe a single hit. On any given day I smoke 0.2g to 0.3g at the most...A gram will last me a week, or longer at times.
It's nice because I do have a tolerance, so I don't get super lifted every time I smoke. But since I do smoke small amounts it's not hard for me to get really stoned....Moderation & balance

ill also add this: It doesnt get hard to function but it most definitely has an imact. THC activates 4 parts of your brain: thoughts, mood, memory, and apatite.
your brain is functioning differently than it normally would, EVERYDAY, it WILL have an effect.
the shroomery's resident expert on THC. He watched a Nat Geo special about it.
lol it goes way beyond that rofl...they are just the ones who talk about the naturally occurring cannabinoids.. have I said something wrong? because u might give sum1 the impression that what i've said isn't true. when those 4 parts of your brain are stimulated all day every day it will have an impact.

I'll have to watch that special and learn more about it. I just though you were coming off a little pompous and needed a little deflation.

only a small portion was about the newly found use(s) the body has for its naturally occurring cannabinoids, and what happens when coming off of prolonged THC use. It more so was talking about what they derived from their research than the research itself(for that part anyways, they did show many studies taking place). But everyone studied joined under their free will. I assume people went in knowing they would smoke again, sort of like Doug Benson's "Super High Me".

IMO, smoking weed in situations where you would have to be worried that people think you're high is a bad idea.

that's why I don't ever worry if people will think I'm high. I get RIPPED before work sometimes, and never use visine, cologne, anything. Only people that know are stoners.

not that I'm any different stoned... but I mean.. common... I get super stoned and my eyes become pure bloodshot... if I use visine, no one would even guess I am high..

Yes, the mind is very powerful. Look at Stephen Hawkings... shoulda been dead so long ago from ALS and I believe he is still alive today because of his mental drive and passion

i get really annoyed when people dont ask questions.. so much time can be saved and misunderstandings avoided if questions are asked. Everyone is just so eager argue and debate as a means to build some self-esteem or something... It's like people seek conflict on here, subconsciously, as a way to fill their day. The perception of drug users that society has put out over the decades has made us a very defensive bunch and quick refute any negative side effects of our beloved substances... Just ask questions people, dont make assumptions.. you cant get tone, or inflection from text... it really is very ambiguous.
ahhhhhh that vent felt good, btw that wasn't directed intended for nicecrisman... just things i have noticed since i have been posting more lately
