hah, a guy i used to hang out with in high school used to make funny money a lot back then. sometimes he would buy a soda at a convenience store with a fake 20 to get $18 or $19 in real cash. but mostly he used it to buy dope. of course he could only swindle each dealer once because they would realize it was funny money minutes after the transaction, if not instantly, and be out for blood on this idiot.
Eventually the fake bills started showing up tacked to the walls in gas stations and convenience stores, he had a bunch of dealers looking to beat him half (or all the way) to death, and the police were likely on his trail. He was smart enough to stop making funny money but too addicted to dope and crack to stop doing crazy shit for drugs.
he started stealing all kinds of shit from all kinds of people. a few times he took trailers with jet skis or dirt bikes off of random trucks parked out on the street, hooked them up to his truck, drove off and sold them for drug money. eventually he got arrested for stealing a car. the moral of the story is, fake money always leads to jail. dont do it!

A friend of mine that used to deal in High School got paid in fake bills once. And the fucked up thing is the deal happened through his mom.
He gave his mom the weed, his mom sold the weed to her friends, and she came back with 3 fake $20's for him. And they were horribly done too. No store would ever take them.

since the bills are different sizes, you can't bleach the ink off of a small bill and print a higher denominational value on it like the dude in the video.

Is it wrong that I thought this thread was about the U.S. government?
ATTENTION U.S. CITIZENS! YOUR GOVERNMENT IS PRINTING FAKE MONEY! IT ISN'T ACTUALLY WORTH ANYTHING!
That's what I'm picturing the newspaper headlines to be one day.

Money is backed by a promise. The promise that if you perform a desired service for me, I'll give you something which you can use to have a desired service performed for yourself.
Money cannot be backed by anything physical. Gold or whatever sitting around holds little value. Certainly not enough value to equal the daily exchanges of a giant society.

i asked him that before but he never answered, i think he found a program that stores massive amounts of pictures very easily, and is very easily accesable. he types in a few keywords related to the picture he wants to complete his post and just adds in the pic at the bottom
idk they all seem so uniform.. almost as if he has a program that reads the words he writes and automatically generates and adds the code in at the bottom

Money cannot be backed by anything physical. Gold or whatever sitting around holds little value. Certainly not enough value to equal the daily exchanges of a giant society.
That's what money's used for, not what gives it its value. In our monetary system, money is given its value by the total money supply and the amount of goods and services that are being exchanged. If the money supply grows faster than the physical marketplace, a dollar's value goes down. If the marketplace grows faster than the money supply, a dollar's value goes up.
That's why we adopted the fucked up fractional reserve system. It inflates the money supply at an exponential rate. The people who came up with the system thought the marketplace would also grow at a similar pace, but actually inflation has been completely out of hand and disproportionate to what's actually happening in the economy almost since the Federal Reserve was first established.
