I found this lamp at my home which is about 120cm long (fluorescent lamp)

On the frame:
TL2001 28W
220-240V 50Hz

On the bulb:
FSL F28 T5/CW
    06 10 ROHS

I only see it's 28W, but how many kelvins then? How would I make sure if it's in the right range of color temperature? I want 6500k.

CW after the T5/ stands for cool white which is between 4500k and 5000k i think

dude, you can go to walmart and get the bulb you need in a 2 pack for 5 bucks, or you can get a 24" ballist with bulb for $8

First I will have to get in America in order to do so.. and that's not what I'm going to do

I'm in Europe. But I guess I'll have to get 2 of these then. I don't know why they're so expensive here. I'm not going to waste time ordering either.

Thanks.

(In my case I have only one monotub and I figured I'll need to install 2 lights, because my lid doesn't let light through.. so I gotta put them to the sides)

You could probably get them cheaper if you order them from here even with the shipping charges, this is the bulb you need and it is only$3.78 american which is like what? one euro and something? don't know anyway if you didn't already get them look here and see if they will ship to you

This is incorrect.  Supply current has no bearing on the color temperature of the light output.

To the original poster, contact the manufacturer or find another source.  Most CFL lamps will have the color temperature stamped on the base somewhere.

Yeah, sorry guys, I was wrong about the current but not about the bulb,in his original post he put what was written on the bulb and I looked it up  On the bulb:FSL F28 T5/CW 06 10 ROHS

T5 is the type of bulb and the CW stands for cool white which is less than the 6500k he needed. I tried to correct myself but he left before I could. I should have already deleted that post. I found him one that would ship to him for $4 but he hasn't been back and I think he already ordered some that were really expensive. I will try not to post incorrectly, I had been up for almost 48 hours when I wrote that and I knew it was nonsense. Sorry bout that, guess thats what I get for not taking my meds and staying up for two days with no sleep, his bulb isn't what he needs though.

If one can't specifically find 6500K, then cool white is the best choice and will work pretty good.  Avoid warm white.

Thank you for your help. To be honest, I couldn't make it to the shop today, because it's a red day in calender and they closed the shop too early. I guess it's fortunate then, as I see what you've said.

The one problem though is that when I order from the 1000bulbs, then I will have to wait for another week before I can start the fruiting stage. The colonization has completed in few days ago already. Is it ok if I wait for another 7-11 days in order to get my stuff from this site? In a meanwhile I could hold my tub in a cool room in the basement, right?

And if I'm going to make this order today, then which one should I pick?

You have recommended this and this for me:

http://www.1000bulbs.com/product/53632/FC23-FEIIS23W64.html

Honestly I would like the second one better as it is much easier to fit it into the closet or somewhere else.

If it's no problem for you, then could you please recommend me something more which I would need to buy in order to get the lightbulbs shining?

Many many thanks.

You can wait till they start popping out pins till you birth them if you want to, you need to wait at least 5 more days anyway if they just fully colonized a few days ago. I have 3 jars that I am birthing friday that are pinning in the jar, that just means you only have a few days to wait after you birth them for mushrooms.

Wait I'm not sure what you mean.

My coco coir / vermiculite substrate is fully colonized in my monotub. I thought the right type of light is very important in order to get good pin set. Or you think I should introduce FAE already?

I know what birthing means when we talk about jars, but monotub?

I'm not sure but I thought that you were supposed to consolidate a week for every tek. If you needed to fruit them before your lights got there indirect sunlight works just as well as fluorescent, and even a little direct sunlight a day wont hurt.

He's doing a monotub, not the pf tek. He doesn't need to consolidate

You don't birth a monotub, I think he's thinking of pf tek jars. whenever I let a colonized monotub sit too long past colonization a few weird looking shrooms come up and it doesn't form a very nice pinset. It usually gets better once it has light shining on it, but the first flush yields are usually low. If I harvest and dunk, the second flush onward is usually normal. That is kind of a long time to wait, could you supplement it with your original light or some ambient light till the bulb arrives?

That's the problem. I don't have the right light and the sun is too low. Also I need to keep the tub in the closet.

I've heard that if I start the fruiting stage with a wrong/poor light, then there will be poor pin set.

I don't want to do anything wrong :frown:

RR said that the light you have would work, just not as good as 6500k ones. The one you have has a CW on it, that stands for cool white, it is like 4700k or somewhere around there. You could just use the one you have till you get the 6500k bulbs.

Yes, I guess.. but I will need 2 lamps, because the lid is lightproof and I'll have to put them to the sides. I'm afraid to get "not so good" pin set when I introduce "no optimal" light and only from one side.

But look, I've just made a new thread with a picture of the colonized/colonizing substrate as this thread is not getting much attention anymore. I need to get some opinions from different people as fast as possible, so I could make a move already.
