I dunno, what are your aspirations?
What do you think you would qualify for?

aspirations? meh, still havent figured out what i want to do.
i just found out how screwed i am today. so it hasnt set in that the auto industry is pretty much out except my job now which i was using as a stepping stone.
definatly would qualify for printing and automotive.
just need to hear some ideas. i believe i can do anything that i want to in a non arrogant way.

Before you scoff at the idea of being a male nurse, my pal does something similar. He's a respiratory technician, which only took 18 months of schooling/training and the guy makes decent money (around 30k w/benefits), works with tons of women, and here's the kicker... gets to work 3, 12 hour days a week. (Gets paid a full 40)
And he was telling me, schedules are first come first serve, so you can set your work week up to have long stretches off.
Gah so jealous, I'd be out hiking and setting up trips to anywhere and everywhere I could during those long stretches off.

i wont knock anything at this time.
ive been to the hospital, their are some cute girls running around. easy on the eyes compared to the bunch of dudes i currently work with.
oh and not to mention job security there is always someone doing something dumb to hurt themselves
and thats a pretty rad schedule.
what else?

I took a job as an insurance restoration tech 4 months ago, and love it.
I drive around a large city and its suburbs in a company truck doing repairs and restoration. Primarily painting, flooring, baseboards, drywall and demolition. I have to respond to floods too, but i do repair at least 75% of the time.
Wage is ok as i learn - should be around 30k before overtime at my 6 months review, and i usually get 50hr weeks. My wage would top out around $25/hr in a couple years if my i stick it out, and there is a good possibility that my company would support me in a carpentry apprenticeship after 2 years..
For someone with no trades background and a shitty job history - i love this job.

nursing is a good gig
but it requires a lot more schooling than people think.
and its really tough to get into nursing school, believe it or not. EVERYONE wants to be a nurse nowadays. (no, i'm not in nursing school. I'm studying psychology so I can deliver pizza later in life )

You should hustle kids at the pool hall. Team up with another guy who will handle the money, and you act like that way-too-drunk dude. Foolproof.
