Is there anything that i could do to help a field to produce shrooms. I live in central florida and my friend owns a cow field that produced cubensis last season but not to many of them and none have popped up yet so far this year. Someone told me to give the cows bread any truth to this?
My only guess is to make sure you leave some behind and don't pick every single one. You want to make sure that it ends up spreading SOME spores to ensure the field doesn't just dry out so quickly. But, until any pop up, I'm not sure what you can do to help the field produce shrooms. Have you been checking cow patties for myclieum?
Once the caps pen the main spores are dispersed. Cttle help spread them by eting the shrooms in the grass surrounding the cow pies where they ar3e. Others fruit later from the spores falling on the grasses int he surrounf area. or where they appear at.
Thats how they move around the fields but stay where the cattle are.
