cuz he was framed once.
Were is there any evidence that he was ever framed for anything?
And if he lost interest in enlightenment than it's obvious to me that it ain't so hot as people say it is.
But since we're on the subject here's what I think happened.
He was filled with hope at the prospect of enlightenment when young. He had some mental experiences that convinced him he was on the path. His dedication was noticed and he rose in the ranks. Eventually he came to realize that enlightenment, the one he imagined was not coming to him and maybe didn't exist. But he had invested so much of his life and he was now well respected and revered and had a secure life and was well provided for. So he played the game but needed some diversions like we all do so he realized his position allowed him contact with possibly willing partners in his sexual needs. So he went for it an acted like most humans do. Eventually like most he got caught and now he plays the "i'm so sorry for everyone I hurt" card cause that's what humans do when caught. End of story.

Come on ice.. are you reading just few words out of every sentence? Have you checked all the evidences for yourself? You dont have to answer, cuz it would be pointless. Beside, I already said to you, that you should perhaps rethink about what does the enlightenment-word mean to you.
What you think is fairly reasonable.. and I would just quote one sentence that you should pay attention to.. Eventually he came to realize that enlightenment, the one he imagined was not coming to him and maybe didn't exist. cuz maybe he had wrong idea.. as many people do, im sure

I read your whole post. I've read everything posted about this guy but I'll bet you haven't.
If he had the wrong idea and knew it then why was he teaching others? And if he actually thought he was enlightened then cheating and lying doesn't say much either. Anyway you look at it logically there's not much defense.

No you are right, i have not read anything about this guy... and I remember saying that it was possible that he had viagra in his drink... would anyone know that beside the girl? I am not standing in his defense, I am just saying you will never know how and why that happened.. so you and we can only debate on the after effects of his failed efforts or whatever.
I dont know if he knew it.. on the wrong idea issue. Do you know when you have some wrong idea, and when you act upon it, you later realize that it was wrong indeed? And again, how would you know that your and his idea on the enlightenment are the same. Maybe he still believe he is enlightened? OFC, if we use logic there is none. But then again in this world many things are not logic to me. Fe. we have all capabilities to feed those who are hungry, and yet we dont, is that logical?

There is no way to know ultimately if anything is correct. We have to guess and a best guess is made by gathering all the evidence we can find and then evaluating it and trying to do that without undue prejudice. This is how we make it in the world and those who are best at it usually thrive. So really I don't think you have much of a point to make here.

I never wanted to make any point.. what is so, is so. My intention was to offer a different perspective on things as on everything I do on this forum. And it seems I do so with little success... but having fun either way

I would. Since the typical definition of enlightenment is full removal of the ego and merging with the Self...or whatever.
Then if a lapse in moral judgment occurs like that one then it's the "universe" making the mistake.
That's a pretty big deal.

I dunno, if enlightenment is to be a realistically attainable goal then it seems like it has to include an acceptance of man's imperfect nature... or maybe I'm just being overly pessimistic about our ability to control our own minds.
