Waking up with a lot of crusties in your eyes?

What gives? This morning and yesterday morning I would wake up and had to force my eyes open because of the amount of crust that would accumulate in my eyes and practically glue them shut. It's fucking annoying and disguising, and had never happened in this severity until the past couple days. Has anybody experienced this?

Yeah it happens to me every once in awhile, especially when I used to wear contacts. But there's a lot of other shit that causes it. In most cases it's good for your eyes.

i get them if i sleep with my contacts in (which i no longer do after i scratched my cornea about 2.5 years ago.... that was the most pain ive ever been in)
i remember waking up and having to rub the crust out of my eyelashes just to get my eyes open.
sometimes i get more than usual if i am sick, but not to the point that i cant open my eyes.

Have you tried any sort of drops? I used to get this all the time when I was like 5 and the doc gave me some kind of drops for them.

Just been putting in disinfectant drops these past two days. Yesterday I tried putting visine into my red eye but it wouldn't relieve the redness

Weird, I was just about to suggest that actually. Eye boogers to the point that it glues your eyes closed can be indicitive of some kind of eye infection (e.g.: pink eye). If your eyes are red and feel itchy or burny, get to a doc and get some antibiotic eyedrops.
It could also be due to a cold, seasonal allergies, or sinus infection. Try putting a wash cloth with warm water on your eye lashes to soften up the eye boogies so you don't have to force your eyes open. Might wanna take a decongestant too. If you go for a decongestant, get real pseudoephedrine that they keep behind the counter, the phenylephrine they use in OTC shit is only effective in 40% of the population.

You could also be developing a stye, which is basically an eye-zit that you can't pop and gets worse when you (inevitably can't help but to) scratch and rub it.
Gumby; contact solution functions as eye-drops perfectly well.

Yeah it burns like a motherfucker but its good to kill all the bacteria and viruses and stuff right???
Naw I'm just playing I misspoke, I'm just putting in sterile eye drops in an attempt to just comfort my eyes and get them to chill the fuck out.
I'm actually just getting done getting over a wicked cold. It was at its worst like friday and sat, but it's still lingering. I'll try the pseudoephedrine like you suggested. Good to know about the pseudoephedrine-phenylephrine thing, fucking government.
Would that mean needing a script for the real stuff since its not OTC?

Didn't know this but I'll drop this piece of science also: You can also use contact solution to clean piercings or any other wounds because it effectively disinfects.

Krash Kharma: that highly depends on the contact solution. A lot of contact solutions have hydrogen peroxide or preservatives in them that can cause a chemical abrasion of the cornea and conjunctiva, which irritates the eye and can leaves it open to infection.

I've experienced this. I bought some new solution without looking over it because I thought contact solution = contact solution, and it turns out this one was one of those with peroxide. You're supposed to store your contacts in the special case that comes with the solution because the case causes a chemical reaction with the peroxide you soak the contacts in and in a few hours your contacts are clean and the solution won't burn you.
I didn't know this, put the solution and contacts in my normal contact case, and put the contacts back in the next morning... Oh god did that burn like bloody hell.

Haha, they actually outlawed OTC sales of pseudoephedrine because it's one of the main precursors to meth.
And no, you won't need a script, you just have to give them your ID and they write down your info and make you sign something, no biggie. They're just making sure you're not going around town hitting up every pharmacy to buy pseudoephedrine for your bathroom meth lab.

Wow really? Why would they do that... I can't imagine why something you set your contacts in for hours at a time, and then place directly in your eyeball, would be abrasive.
I don't have contacts but a lot of my friends have and my girlfriend does and I've used their contact solutions hundreds of times and it works as good as/better than visine.
