Hello guys i am new to mushroom growing and I have been reading about different compounds, I am interested in the horse manure compound so here is the question:
Can I use JUST use fully dried horse manure and pasteurize it in a jar without any other substrate? I mean just the horse poop by itself nothing else, and then inject the spores in the jar and make the colonization in the jar.?
Here is my reference link, as you can see on the vid he is mixing it with something else..

Thanks in Advance.

you cannot start spores from poo... sorry, you can start spores from any grain type spawn material or rye berries. pasturizing in jars is ok as long as you keep tab on internal temp. go to out-grow.com and read after clicking information tab. there will be a pictorial of how the basic spore and spawn runs work. I only direct you there because of how simple he makes the process look, not saying all this info and more couldn't be found on this site.

Thanks you sir. I forgot to add that the poop has wheat in it and there's actually mushroom growing from it but they are not active just edible, can i just pasteurize it and use it???

yes, after you have fully colonized spawn material, you can mix that with your jar preped poo in trays or tubs to make what is called a bulk substrate you will then have to wait for that to colonize, from there you can fruit without casing or case and colonize a few more days then fruit. both ways are proven.

no, spores and poo will not work... only colonized material will colonize poo. the spores will not germinate when injected to poo thats why you have to use a grain spawn material, such as rye berries, or wbs.
