Woohoo Super Awesomo!!! (Even if it looks like the "special school bus") Thanks for the dependable tips RR.. It passes the lighter test.
The interior is siliconed and there is weather stripping imbetween the pellenium and the filter. The filter face has a felt gasket. Everything seems snug as a bug in a rug. I used no silicone on the filter.
Blower Info
for 3/4" stock...i actually used 23/32

I used a pocket screw jig with self tapping screws so teh only visible screws are adjustments for the filter receptical.

Looks good...nice job The lighter test? I remember reading about that somewhere...it should blow the flame to a 45 degree angle. If that is correct at what distance from the filter should this happen? I built mine following stonesuns specs in the flowhood build pictorial he wrote up. I'm sure I'm all good but would like to give this test a try. I have RR's video, was it on there that I maybe heard about the lighter test?

Thanks 45-60 degree from 12 o clock. 6" from filter face.

Excellent work there aris Very sleek looking. Hoping to build another flowhood this year and it's always nice to see what others are doing. Thanks for the post and the info.
That lighter bit is neat. Does anyone know what that translates to in terms of FPM off the filer face?

I assume it translates to the 100FPM leaving the filter that is needed for laminar flow. Or at least very close within that range.

I have fired this thing up for a few hours and its definitely getting too hot to touch. Is the "1500" rating prefilter too restrictive? I can put my palm on the motor for 3 seconds. It still passes the lighter test. The surface of the motor appears to be about 108 F 42 C Blower documentation says Min./max. operating temp. range: -20° to 104°F but I think thats ambient... Its pulling 1.36 amps thru a "killa-watt" measurement gadget.
